One of my cats is mostly white with a few tabby coloured splodges throughout his body and head, and you know his white shedding didnt even occur to me when I chose him, I picked him because he was so unusual coloured and I fancied a bit of colour in my life :rotfl:

I realise now that people may avoid white cats because of the hair, as it does show up verrrrry badly, doesn't bother me in the slightest, as he prefers to sleep on OH's clothes :rotfl:
The same with Daisy Cat,Hoover one day & within hours it's back to white fur city!
  • He may well have an owner but MILES away.....

when I got Chi I didn't plan to have him `done' & the vet persuaded me by saying most of dead cats found were entire toms, that they wandered miles looking for females to mate with - obviously if there are other uneutered toms to defend territory they wander farther & farther afield and apparently that's how some males end up as strays - it's their hormones raging - not disloyalty.

That's what I'm afraid of :( we're still keeping an eye on the lost and found websites, and leafleting further afield.. I'd love it if we could reunite him with someone, but he's been with us 3 weeks now, starting to look unlikely.

And LOL just got email from OH at home:

"Well he just left us a present! Out of the following, which would you like the most?

    1. A brand new Aston Martin DB9 and an immunity to speeding fines
    2. A cheque for £200,000 to pay off the mortgage and go on a carribbean cruise
    3. A dead, half chewed bird plonked right outside the door from your new kitty."

awwww.....!! i think that's his way of saying thank you ;):rotfl:

I think it's the season for visiting cats. When I opened the door to let my cats out today a lovely little longhaired black haired cat I'd never seen before popped his head round and promptly came in and ate all their cat food (lots of it!!) They weren't at all bothered by him and he wasn't bothered by them. He then proceeded to explore the whole house and sat with me while I had a cup of tea. I had to go out so I put him back outside and he stayed in the garden for a while. He looked like a young version of one of my neighbours cats which had died recently and who also always used to come in and pinch my cats food! I knocked on their door and was so relieved to hear it was their new cat who is very very greedy! Four cats is enough for me but no doubt he will be a regular cheeky visitor!!
Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
    And we were young.

hope he's back soon. You sound like you are besotted, btw!
  • Well I was about to post a "we don't think he coming back" ... went out in the pouring rain for one last check shaking a bag of food, feeling daft for even trying, when across the fence came the LOUDEST hungriest soggiest meow I ever did hear..I swear, it made the windows shake :rotfl:

So yep, it's official, we missed him! if he still feels this is home after staying out in the snow and rain for two days, I think that's a good sign.

...I wonder how many people like us he's got feeding him though!!! LOL

Aw poor little thing - there is nothing more pitiful than a wet cat.

I think he's definitely made himself at home with you, even if he does enjoy going off on his little adventures, he's probably woman crazy as he's still not neutered!

This post mad me laugh because I have a black cat who I curse for making my lovely white bed linen and white kitchen covered in obvious black hairs that I would not worry about if they were white and virtually invisible. But I never thought about my dark work suits that would end up covered in white cat hair!!

See I'm okay on the kitchen front as I don't see the white hairs, unless a rogue one lands on my sandwich, EWWWW.

My other cat is dark grey and her hairs are no issue as she doesn't shed much at all, she has very thick fuzz and is good at cleaning herself, thankfully.

At least the public don't know your bed is marked with black hairs, it's glaringly obvious if you have white on your black clothes.

I was in a rush the other day and grabbed my leggings out the wash basket, wasn't until I was on the bus I noticed they were heaving in cat hair. I was trying to be discreet about it but gentle strokes gets nowhere, so in the end I was thrashing my hands up and down my legs trying to get as much white fuzz off as possible. Hope no-one thought I was mental, or playing with myself :rotfl:
