  • One way I think we could resolve this would be to have a thread - I suppose it *could* be stickied - on low-cost sources of professional advice. This would offer people the opportunity to gain 'trustworthy' help whilst also allowing them to solicit 'amateur' aid.

Showing qualificationson a website would prove very little. Ther are plenty of websites that help you cram for Micorsoft certification exams. Ther are plenty of experienced knowledgable people without qualifications.

I'm currently sat in a classroom doing a Windows Server 2008 course but my company won't pay for me to take an exam and neither will I so regardless of how much I learn I won't have any letters after my name.

What qualifications will allow wntry to the 'qualified' sub-forum? Is it only Microsoft certification or will Cisco or RedHat certification (for example) count?
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

wow - a thread dot discussing mac vs pc descending into a circle jerk - gratz!

I'm struggling to see how this has reached 6 pages (he says adding +1 to post count).

The guy made a suggestion, consensus disagrees with it but understands the reasoning, can't everyone just move on?

Those who think the "thanks" button is only there to stroke the egos of their friends/clique seriously devalue it. The OP may genuinely have something to offer this forum so stop being so petty!

[Insert "Where's my cluebat?" smiley here]

From reading this thread, I believe "improper use of a spell checker" forces immediate exclusion, doesn't matter what background you come from or what other skills you may have. Sorry, Bill - you don't make the cut :(
