Hi Juno - and welcome. Are you following any specific plan?
I'm not really following a plan, I'm just trying to be more healthy. But I am doing a lot more exercise as well.

I cant get my head around this, I have maintained, after putting a pound on last week!!

So I go on holiday, have a great time, somehow manage to lose 2 pounds, put on a pound once home, so I subscribe to it takes a couple of week to show up on the scales!

Since 7th August I have been in the Gym 7 times, doing around 50mins CV work everytime and 850-900 calories burnt each time.

I have watched what I eat, I am no angel, but it doesnt make sense that 4 gym sessions, and nothing changes!

I must be doing something wrong, either that or things have slowed so much it still takes two weeks to show on the scales.

I am taking my children to Mallorca in October half term, 9 weeks time, so what should I realistically aim for? 14 pounds? should I push for 20 pounds? I have so much to lose weight wise (proabably another 4-5stone) and yes I guess I am getting fitter but its the belly people see and laugh at, they cannot see how fit you are.

Sorry for the moan, thats the trouble with working from home, no-one to moan at :)

Ahh Suggs I am sorry to hear that you are feeling like this. Don't be discouraged..you are doing the right thing, it will be hard, but you know what you are aim is. I say to be realistic with how much you can lose each week, then if you do better its a bonus.

I can't really give anymore advice, because I only started on here yesterday, I am sure the rest will be able to give you some sound advice shortly

Take care....and don't worry your not moaning, that's why we are here..

Ah suggs that's all a bit crap. I'm suffering a bit as well having maintained for around 4 weeks now (and have been moaning about it too :o) so i guess it's just something our bodies are doing (or, for me, it could be the swimming pool sized bowls of shreddies i seem to keep eating).

Keep going dude. Re-assess what you're eating (maybe keep an annoying but always helpful food diary) as something silly may have sneaked in.

Maybe you're just building some muscle up and it's showing on the scales??

Maybe you should go back on holiday with lady suggs again as that seemed to do the trick last time :D

QT: Glad you're so upbeat today. Make sure you go for a walk today if you have time - even if it's raining! It's good just to get into the habit :)

Hi Suggs - I know exactly how you feel, I've been on my own in the office for three days this week - after a while you start thinking of people you can call just to talk to someone. The other day I had one of those odd phone calls from someone, where in normal circumstances you'd turn round and share it with a colleague, but I couldn't, so I rang OH up to tell him instead!

Don't beat yourself up about staying the same, remind yourself how well you've done so far, rather than focussing on how far you've still got to go. I know, easier said than done! Sometimes there's just no fathoming why the body reacts in different ways to things - us females usually blame our hormones, and I don't know what men can put the blame on, biorhythms maybe, or your horoscope? ;) (Just thought of something comical to say about the moon and Uranus, but thought better of it - I'll leave it to everyone's imagination...)

You seem to be doing the right things, but maybe what you need is to change something. I know I can get stuck in a rut where breakfast and lunch are concerned, eating the same day after day, purely out of habit. Sometimes having a complete change can make all the difference.

It may be worth trying something different at the gym - the body gets used to whatever we do, so to keep improving fitness or losing weight, we have to force ourselves to do more, for example covering more distance, doing the same distance in less time, or lifting heavier weights.

Even if you don't make any changes, and carry on as you have been, you'll probably find you start losing again in the next couple of weeks - life's funny sometimes.

Honey, I just followed the recipie Lois posted on the losing weight recipies thread. I think its 4 oz pudding rice (free), 700ml skimmed milk (healthyA), 200ml of water & 3tbspns of sweetner. mix together and cook until the rice has absorbed the liquid. It makes enough for at least 2 really filling breakfasts and for 1 heA! Happy Days.

Delly - how much will this make - is this a 1 person portion? I make pudding on Sunday (we eat at my mums house) and was wondering could I make this - she is also following sw, but there will be 5 adults eating it.

Well done Minerva, and pug - dont worry about the gain, at least you know where you went wrong.
Suggs - that sucks, but keep at it, Dont give up now. It will start moving again soon. I like Jeni's idea about taking lady suggs away again :rotfl:
