Thanks for all of the comments.
Just to let you know the suitcase arrived ths morning from BA (Heathrow debacle!) I now have all of my makeup, clothes and girl stuff back. I sound like such a girly but I have never been to work without make up and staightened hair etc - they'd probably think I was desperately ill if I did! (i'm not, I'm just a minger without help)
Last day skiving today - I'll tell them the bag arrived mid afternoon so I can have the day off.
Made lush leek and potato soup last night (just 2 syns in the whole vat of it) - I never cook from basics!! - and have at least half a gallon left - so it's soup for me today.
BTW, managed to go swimming yesterday and my bum muscles are now so sore that I'm walking like I desperately need a pee !
Have a good day everyone!

Hi all
Well done Lisele and Tallgirl - 3lbs each, that's a great start :T
Fritha - (((hugs))) - I'm at a loss to know what to say that would help. I get the feeling you're putting on a brave face, but you must be feeling very downhearted. As we always say, its better to maintain than to gain, so keep trying, and hopefully you'll have a good result soon.
I maintained this week as well, but I know why - I could use the excuse that I haven't been able to exercise, but having the munchies (and giving in to them) hasn't helped! I'm back on the straight and narrow this week.
Back later with the chart.

Um, hi, could I join the 2 lb weight loss club please?
I'm 21 and weigh 9 stone 12 lbs, and 3 years of studying at uni with lots of junk food to keep me going in uni and not much exercise meant I have put on a stone!!! I decided to really do something about it when I realised a pair of size 12 trousers were too tight! Almost size 14 and nearly 10 stone is shocking for me, cos I've always been quite fit and slim, so I refuse to reach either of these!
Now I've finished uni, I've got no excuse, so my target weight is 8 stone 12 lbs. If the 2lb pw thing works, this means I should be at my target in 6 wks, on Sept 25th. However, I've got a resit at end of Aug, so got a feeling the next two wks are going to be awkward, and I'll go back to chocolate for motivation. (Chocolate is my downfall)0 -

:rotfl: :rotfl: Have visions of you walking around with the bottom and thighs clenched and a pained expression on your face :rotfl:
Fritha Comfort eating doesn't actually comfort you does it?
It's always difficult to know how to motivate someone when you don't know them very well, I really would hate to hurt your feelings.
How far away is the wedding? How much weight would you like (realistically) to lose? Do you go to a group? Are you following SW or WW or just low cal? Is there a particular time of day when you struggle most?
It's possible for you to lose around 2lb each week if you follow a plan (any plan really) 100%. If you would like to post a typical days eating on the board, we could perhaps make some suggestions which would help.
Have you ever looked on the virtual model site (https://www.mvm.com). You can make a model of how you look now and change it as you go down in dress size. It can be very inspiring.
If you don't go to a group, perhaps you could join one, I honestly think it helps. Try to commit yourself to cooking something new every day - it builds up a store of recipes, but also makes food interesting for something other than eating (if you know what I mean).
I hope I don't come across as patronising, but my daughter gets married next year and can't get her act together to lose her excess weight. She's so unhappy about it, but won't let anyone see. It breaks my heart because, unlike being bald (for instance) it is something you get 'cure' if you're willing to make some sacrifices.
Lisele Well done, congratulations :TI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Welcome Faithless. My son did exactly the same as you in uni and came out with that same attitude. It took him about 3 months to lose his extra weight and he's kept it off ever since (5 years).
As I said yesterday, a good guide is to check all nutritional labels and not eat anything with more than 4% fat. Unfortunately, as a student, it's often liquid (in the form of alcohol) which gets in the way I believe :rotfl:
So, be aware that alcohol is full of empty calories and keep it down to a fairly low level. Also keep an eye on sugary things, which of course, aren't covered by the 4% fat thingy!I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
ho everyone hope you had a good weekend. I just weighed in and i've maintained which is amazing considering i got through 44 syns on saturday! I was doing medieval cookery at EHs festival of history at Kelmarsh hall, and ate authentic food all day. I synned it all out at the end and could have cried. Who knew flour was so evil? and currants?! the work of the devil! Off to Bosworth next weekend so I'll have to try harder. Anyone know how on earth do i get a syn value for mead as it isn't in syns online? It's am alcoholic drink made from fermented honey and i know it's going to hit me next week. Big congrats to everyone who did better than me this week.0

I have lost 1lb since I joined!
So, that's Initial Weight - Premenstrual Water Retention + Premenstrual Comfort Food = 1lb weight loss!
Yay!0 -
Lost half a pound - thought it would have been more but I did overdo the pims and the wine on Saturday night so can't complain! Was finding out times etc for pilates and aerobics classes today , hoping to start when the kids go back to school.
Well done to everyone this week - whether you have lost, gained or maintained - at least we all tried0 -
