TallGirl wrote:Consultant mine is a large glass you are absolutely right so 15 sounds a bit scary. I have just had the in laws down and two large glasses of wine later feeling quite merry. Made some homemade Danish Chicken soup and had that for dinner and lunch. No cream just chicken, water and lots of veg so hopefully that is OK. A food diary sounds like a good idea I might try that but if I am really strict on myself I don't tend to snack. Bought a big box of raisins to snack on hope that isn't too many sins.
Actually, I hate to do this to you, but raisins are 4 syns for 28 grams. Not good if you're planning to eat a lot. You're much better off with fresh grapes. Your soup sounds very good though. I hope you enjoyed it!I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Ups that does sound a lot, I didn't realise that. I do only tend to eat a very small handful but I will now think about that. Grapes are great and I do love them, just bought a whole batch of blueberry hope they are not too many syns. I know they are very good for you so I think I will risk them.Save £12k in 25 No 49

TallGirl wrote:The best thing is not to buy things in the first place but my husband is underweight and a very fussy eater so I don't mind him buyinh thingds he likes but it is hard. I try to stay off them but when they are about to go out of date I get tempted
TallGirl -Don't know about kids not eating up, my DS is 9 months old and has so far eaten everything that we've put in front of him. As far as I know, cherries and grapes are the 2 things he's not so keen on!:rotfl: (means there's more for me). But I do have a pudgy doggie who will eat anything we drop on the floor by accident!
My DH was quite a picky eater for a long time too and he loves savoury things to eat (tortilla chips is the latest). I still buy in stuff for him but I'm not usually tempted by his treats because I've trained myself into thinking that since they're not for me I have to ask my OH if it's ok for me to eat them (I've already instructed him to tell me no) so I don't usually succumb to temptation. The other thing I do is put them out of my reach. My OH is much taller than me and I leave his goodies in a high cupboard out of the way. Maybe you could put your OH's goodies in a low cupboard where you'd have to stoop to get them. As for not wanting to waste food - would you rather there was more around your WAIST?
Might sound a bit cheeky, but you'll probably spend more money on clothes etc. than throwing out food that wasn't bought for you in the first place. I used to be the same way but now I just think- would I rather see that in the bin or wear it in a bigger sized pair of trousers? I know where I'd prefer it to be.
Good luck this week.

Good morning
What a horrible weather day- very wet & cold here, but I refuse to put the heating on yet!
Had less points yesterday so that I can allow the meal on Friday within my weekly points. I intend to do the same for the rest of the week, so that on Wednesday when I weigh I will be close to my 11 stone first target.
Getting close to my holiday which I am really looking forward to, and being a few dress sizes smaler than I was in May this year, I feel much happier about being in my swimming costume.
Hope that you all have a good day.WW Gold Member, trying to maintain !!!Hayden born July 07Tabitha born April 05Poppy born July 030 -
Hi All,jenpoptab wrote:What a horrible weather day- very wet & cold here, but I refuse to put the heating on yet!
It'sthe same here. Raining & windy. We can't put the heating on though as we've just taken the radiators off the wall in the lounge as we are decorating! Wonder how many bonus points i can get for stipping wallpaper for 1hr :rotfl: not sure i'm going to count any to be honest ... not real excercise is it?
I'm just writing my shopping list for next week. I'm finding it really hard. Trying to say in budget & yet still cook stuff that is good for me but my OH & DD will eat too. So far we are having casserole (from the freezer) with veg & potatos tonight, ham, egg & homemade chips tomorrow ... & now i'm stuck! Seem to have an abundance of bbq food in the freezer which has too many points in for me to eat, suppose i could just shop for me & give them sausages & burgers every night ?!?
Ok going now cos posting about my shopping isn't very interesting ... fingers crossed inspiration hits before the munchies do

DellyBelly thanks for the kind advice, I like the low cupboard idea as I hate bending down.
We had the in-laws around last night, lots of wine and snacks just could not resits. I think you are right I do worry about what gets thrown out which I really shouldn't. I think it is proably also a case of only buying what is needed. I always worry about running out if we have people around so end up buying too much. So what if one snack runs out I usually offer at least 4. I found some nice baked snacks in Aldi (never shopped there before). They are like pretzels about 8 diffirent types but each type individually packed so you only need to open the ones you need. As they are baked I figured they are better than crips but I might be totally wrong as you know by now I am not really that clued up about diets.
Anyway must stop now, off to play golf today tee time at 11.37 so 4 or 5 hours of nice fresh air, good company and hopefully good golf awaits.
Take care all and be good if you can.Save £12k in 25 No 49

well I have been good, I've blitzed the kitchen, cooked breakfast- quorn sausages, quorn bacon, mushrooms and a slice of toast each, washed up, mopped the floor, made a soup, sorted the cupboards- last night as well- only took 2 hours!, you can imagine what state they were in, hoovered, just about to peel some spuds as I am cooking dinner for SIL, and her kids, Auntie, etc, god knows where I will sit everyone, I'll probably have to do kids first then adults. Then I may finally get to have a shower in between looking on here. oh well all counts towards my weight loss, especially as I'm dancing around whilst doing the housework.WW Gold Member, trying to maintain !!!Hayden born July 07Tabitha born April 05Poppy born July 030

phew Jen, I'm knackered just reading that!!
Not long up, bit hungover from party last night - I drank but managed to stay away from the desserts so no double damage. Off for a large portion of scrambled eggs to soak up the vino then heading for long walk on beach with kids to clear my head. Catch up later.0 -
Good morning all! Just hopped on my scales for my weekly weigh in-I am the same weight as last week, no weight loss to report for Lois's chart. Bit sad but will try again next week!
Jenpoptab, I am still 11st 2lb, prehaps you will reach 11st before me...
It is raining here in Hampshire too! So a day for house cleaning, tiding up and my favourite-throwing out = I don't like to keep unwanted things.
I will start with the bedroom, clean sheets, throw out old mags on the floor, dust and hoover-then move on to the next room....
The last few weeks the bathroom got the throw out treatment! All thoose bottles-with 3 teenagers. I am using up the shower gel as bubble bath-5 bottles, all left 1/2 empty! We also have plenty of shampoo and 4 types of conditioner=so have stopped buying it. Down stairs is quite tidy, we have just had all wooden look flooring put down.
Eldest daughter surprised me with a bunch of flowers on Thursday, lovely, orange and yellow-she has never done this before. Son did not want to be out done, so on Friday he came home with Love it magazine and said for you Mum! They can be nice sometimes! Middle child is away backpacking around Europe with a friend for the month of August.Stop every thing, she has just signed in! from a youth hostel in Budapest. Talk again later...If winter comes, can spring be far behind?

Wow, jenpoptab, you're an inspiration, woman!
Sorry Tallgirl but I'm giggling at the idea of tall people having to hide stuff in low cupboards ... being short I'm used to creating ingenious ways of reaching things, so the idea of a big tall person scrabbling about on the floor to get at the choccy biccies makes me smile!
It's quite bright between the showers here so after a lovely lie-in (first night with the duvet on again, winter's coming) I've cleaned up the kitchen, washed up and got the washing machine going. I've almost finished curtains for the bedroom, so hopefully today will be the last sewing day for a while. I've promised my dogs another decent walk (we managed a good brisk 4 miles on Friday night) so once the house is a bit more orderly and OH is back from archery we'll head for the hills.
Pate on toast was my guilty pleasure yesterday, after a super-healthy fajita dinner as well. BUT I stupidly started this diet thing while premenstrual (I reckon it was the bloating which got me going!), so hopefully I'll be lighter tomorrow :A
I think I'll put some cabbage soup in the slowcooker ...0
