Still no news on missing bags from BA - their baggage hotline has been closed due to "the operators being busy".
Don't they know how minging I look without my makeup and hair straighteners!!! Their priorities are all wrong! (only joking).
Have a brilliant excuse not to go to the gym though - they are also holding my trainers hostage! Could always go swimming I suppose but it's more fun being able to blame someone else rather than my usual lame lazy excuses.

Had Ryvita and spready cheese for lunch - developed quite a taste for it while I was away. Am planning "nice" syn free(ish) tea - can you tell I have nothing to do except wait by the door for the bag man?
    Take care

    Hello,

I missed yesterday and there are so many pages to read. It's great to read about all the losses. Yesterday, OH and I went to lunch to celebrate my sending my supervisor my phd thesis for the last time. That felt really good. I didn't stick to my plan for lunch had: 1 vegetarian chimichanga (essentially a fried burrito stuffed with veggies and some cheese instead of the more traditional beans), black beans and rice with a Sprite.

In any case, I have lost 1lb and will be running today so I don't actually feel bad at all about our celebratory meal. And now that I don't have to work on my phd for a while, (I anticipate he will make some suggestions for minor changes) I can exercise more and just get out of the house more. Or as OH says, I can have a life again. Hurray!

    Take care. lisele

Congratulations about getting the thesis done! When I finished my PhD the thesis bit was the worst part - the three years of research felt like nothing in comparison to the slog of writing it all up. It's such a relief to get it over with - I still have funny dreams about it sometimes and I got my doctorate nearly 10 years ago.
    Well done !!!

    Yay, good for you Lisele!

Blimey, isn't writing stuff on your food diary an eye opener? I'd completely forgotten Tuesday and that I had 75 syns!! By the next weigh-in on Monday, I'd have been moaning to my leader that I'd been as good as gold! I certainly wouldn't have remembered the Frappucino at Starbucks or the Danish Pastry when my weigh in came around !

The food diary idea sounds fab. Does anyone have any links to online food diaries, you know, where you could add what you've had each day? I saw something like this once and never kept it up but I think it would be helpful.

    Hi, everyone,

Been away on holiday, had one flexible sins meal, I think the meal was ok-ish but it was the wine and the magnum which did the damage. Put on 2lb, but I am still half a pound above my original target. Hurrah. I cut right back before going away and dipped under it. Been back on track for a couple of weeks now and hope to lose 1lb this week. It's the school holidays so I am not nearly so active. Hope everyone is having a good week. I am well used to being my new dress size now and I am determined to stay this size.

Fox Well done on staying within your target range. Magnums are rather syn-laden, but worth it ;) Your determination does you proud!

Monkeylugs Using a food diary, or just a notebook, to record not only what you eat, but the reason you ate it, can be very useful further down the line when the motivation starts to falter.

Lisele Congrats on finishing your thesis. You must feel that a great load has gone from your shoulders (shame it doesn't show on the scales :rotfl: )

Rachelmk What a pain about the bags, but they have no soul these people, lol. How are they to know we women are nothing without makeup and other bits and bobs.

Tallgirl The syns in your wine depend entirely on the size of your glass (sadly). If you have one like mine then it's going to be about 15 syns a time. A pub measure (125mls) is about 5 - 6 syns.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Consultant mine is a large glass you are absolutely right so 15 sounds a bit scary. I have just had the in laws down and two large glasses of wine later feeling quite merry. Made some homemade Danish Chicken soup and had that for dinner and lunch. No cream just chicken, water and lots of veg so hopefully that is OK. A food diary sounds like a good idea I might try that but if I am really strict on myself I don't tend to snack. Bought a big box of raisins to snack on hope that isn't too many sins.

Take care all of you, will get the hang of the names soon I promise.

Welcome back Cheeky - glad you had a good holiday:beer: but it's time to get back on the wagon....

Lisele - well done on the 1lb off.:j

I know what you mean about food diaries Monkeylugs. I went out for a meal with friends last night and ate the foods that I'd planned to eat so was dead proud of myself. I had 3 bacardi's and diet coke (irish measures are big so 4 syns each!) and the only blip was that I ate a few of the fries (but not a plateful or anything - definitely less than 10).

Today I went onto SW online to syn a few things that I've eaten and was totally shocked:eek: . It was when I remembered things I've nibbled at over the past couple of days without thinking of it. (My greatest weaknesses are carrot cake and marks & sparks choc chip cookies from the in store bakery) and synned them, it's not a wonder I have loads of weight to lose. When I counted up my syns for this week so far it stands at 105!:EasterBun _pale_ _pale_   I definitely won't be putting anything in my mouth again unless I 've had the chance to check out how many syns they are and decide whether or not it's worth it.:A

I realise that you are supposed to eat up to 15 syns a day but putting it into a weekly perspective has made me realise that I actually haven't been that bad so far this week. I just need to keep it up!

Hope you all have a great weekend .... and stay away from those syns!

Dellybelly absolutely love your smilies the one eating chocolate is really sweet.

I think you are right we need to think about what we eat. I often don't even feel like something but because I am bored working from home and I know the fridge is downstairs I raid it. The best thing is not to buy things in the first place but my husband is underweight and a very fussy eater so I don't mind him buyinh thingds he likes but it is hard. I try to stay off them but when they are about to go out of date I get tempted as I have wasting food. It must be the same if you have kids nad htey don't eat up. Luckily I only have a fat cat and I don't fancy his food.
