Hi Honey
Do leftovers last in your house?
I often make extra with the intention of taking some to work for lunch, but there's something about leftovers that my OH just can't resist, and he usually ends up eating them for supper!

Honey, Glad you enjoyed my chilli bake. I meant to put a note on to not take the measurements too seriously.... I usually stick on some pasta and go "yeah! that's about right! - same goes for the quorn. The only thing I really measure is the cheese and the seived tomatoes... that way although it's basically the same recipie, it always tastes different!
Lois I seem to have that problem - but only when I make my chilli bake. OH nibbles on it all night and then wonders why there's not enough left for his lunch the next day (I always try to make enough for leftovers but have only just started to allow for picky OH)Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -
delly, great to hear this about yoga - I always thought it was the preserve of sinewy types. I'll look out for local classes.0

JenIttels Thanks for the recommendation, I'll try the new Shape yogurts, I love mousse. Does anyone make their own mousse with sugar-free jellies and vlf natural fromage frais - they're only 2 syns for the whole lot and they're yummy! Have you tried having something free for your breakfast? For instance on red you could have bacon, egg, mushrooms & tomatoes as a totally HE-free meal which would leave you with HEs for later in the day. I often have plain couscous with fruit & yogurt mixed in for breakfast on green. I really enjoy it and it's very filling and leaves the HEs for later on.
I keep meaning to try the jelly mousse but forget to put jelly on the shopping listI always have a big free breakfast at the weekends but during the week I choose sleep over cooking! Plus I love toast. And I love shreddies.
The cous-cous might be an idea though - i've never thought of having it for brekky.
This weekend i'm going to make hash browns using grated potato, grated onion and a little bit of smash to bind it all. Can not for the life of me remember where i got the recipe (thanks to whoever i got it from - or did i make it up myself based on an onion bhaji recipe??) but they're rather yummy. Why is there no emoticon for *drools*?

I'm starting again this week. I've stopped running recently but i've got some fancy new trainers now to motivate me back into it. I'm going to try a few different exercise classes as (including yoga) and get into a bit of a routine again. I am determined that by this time next week i will be at least 1lb lighter than i am now!!
Have a good one all.0 -

I havent got posting on here properly all week, but have read - well done to everyone this week. :T
Delly, the chilli bake was lovely. I used a whole packet of quorn mince and a bucket load of pasta. DH and I both had it for dinner, I nibbled at supper time and DH had it for lunch. My tummy has been a bit dickie today so I didnt have mine for lunch - there is still a fair bit left though. Its nice to have something different.
Lois - leftovers dont last long here either! I try to make a bit extra and bulk chicken dishes (eg curry) up with veg so that I can get an extra portion or 2 from them - its handy when DH is at work and I cant be bothered to cook just for myself - DH also takes "left over surprise" to work for tea :rotfl:
Have had an ok-week food wise - not 100% but all within my syns. I am ata birthday party tomorrow evening - I am going to bring a bottle of diet lemonade with my wine to 1.make it last longer 2.cut down on syns 3. prevent hangover from hell on Sunday:rotfl: I think its a BBQ so will make tomorrow a red day. I plan to have a big brekkie - eggs, bacon etc and will try and eat a bit before I leave :A I didnt weigh in this week and dont want to have a gain following this weekend.
Off to tidy up, catch you all later.0 -
