It seems that we're in the witching hour - how many chocolate posts have there been in the last few minutes? I hadn't even read the others when I posted mine!
I blame it on the rain and the Thursday feeling - nearly the weekend but not quite!

I guarantee you that you will feel worse if you eat any more - physically and mentally. I agree with Tall Girl - STEP AWAY FROM THE BISCUITS :rotfl: :rotfl:
How much weight have you lost altogether. Imagine it going on pound by pound by each biscuit that you put in your mouth. That ought to do the trick! (wish I could practice what I preach!)
Plan for SW chips out the window. DH "forgot" to buy potatoes when he went shopping for me this morning. I swear he does things like that on purpose so I won't ask him to go again! Looks like its going to be rice and curry sauce!0 -

Now Alyssa_Mae - Step away from the Kitchen and put the digestives down

honey28 wrote::rotfl: :rotfl: Been PMSL at this for ages now! I've been thinking all day how scrub wouldnt be an offence word. How innocent (or daft) we are! :rotfl:
I didn't even realise that a word had been filtered out, but yes you need to make small holes in the potato with the tines of a fork (sheesh, it's so much quicker to put !!!!!) :rotfl:
Have a look on https://www.robertdyas.co.uk for slow cookers, they have a 6½ litre Morphy Richards for £20 - I do think you'd regret getting a smaller one and you can always freeze leftovers for another day.
I would set it off before you go out for the day, the longer it cooks, the better the taste. Don't worry about the cost of running (or the safety) as they only use enough electric to power a bulb and they're ultra-safe.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
honey28 wrote:ok, so 3.5l is too small. Will have another look and see what else there is. I leave the house about 8am and am home by 3. If DH is not working late we eat around 630/7pm. Am i best to put on slow cooker when I go to work or when I get home - sorry for the silly question - I'm not quite convinced my house wont go on fire while I'm out!!
My s/c has three modes: warm, slow, and high. I always cook in slow mode because it prepares food in about 8 hours. High will do it in 3-4.
I bought mine after staying at a friend's in Christmas. She would fill it in the morning and leave at 7, then when I arrived at 6 itsmelled delicious. They are really safe.'They can tak' oour lives but they cannae tak' oour troousers!'The Nac Mac Feegle0 -

Back on topic! This is the model I have, and although they do look big and take up quite a large area on your worktop (I use mine too frequently to bother getting it out of the cupboard each time) it is definitely worth having a large one. Size DOES matter! :rotfl: I haven't done it myself, but you can cook a whole chicken very successfully in a slow cooker, you'd need to have one this size to do it.
