CheekyMole has a backside kicking boot with teeth - I find it works very well!! Honey also has a good kicking technique!!
That's the great thing about this site, no-one is without support from somewhere - your 3lbs will come off and if it takes a week or two weeks then it is still coming off and going in the right direction! Goodluck!Misguided maybe, but never really bad!! :A0 -
Hi Tall Girl, your life seems rather glam...making us all wish we could come to!
It is nice to hear of your trip to Spain. What colour are you going to choose for your new bikini?
I like Bhs for swimsuits/bikini's, but have quite a collection from other shops too! Purple, pale blue and several green. I think my faverote is the pink one or two! I seem to buy every year then don't throw the old one's out.
I am not keen on sitting in a wet costume though -once I have roasted enough on holiday and gone in the pool for a cool down.
Any way better say no more as we are surposed to be talking diets on here.
p.s. what about tangi tops and a pair of shorts? for walking around your holiday home in... Ok. I AM GOING...If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
Spring begins on 21st March.0 -
Hi Julie
Sadly my life is not that glam I just work for a really nice company and it was bosses villa. Thanks for the tip about BHS, I was thinking about going for black again like my last one I think pink is too brave as I am blond and have fair skin. My problem is I have trying them on and some of them with all the underwire and chunky beads are so uncomfortable. I may have left it too late anyway this year as the shops are already full of winter wear I suppose that is a good excuse not to try and get one just yet.
Hope you are all doing well, I have tons of work to do and seems to be glued to MSE instead of writting sales reports.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Hi Guys,
Just posting cos I feel a bit down and I'm trying to stay away from the shop around the corner. MIL took DS to the clinic today and got him weighed. She mentioned he was wheezing as an aside and came home with an inhaler for him. I'm really depressed, my baby might have asthma (yes, I know it's not certain till he's over 2, and yes, he might grow out of it if he does - but I'm just preparing myself for the road ahead in case he does). What got me really upset was I might have to get rid of my dog - if it turns out that Joel is allergic to pet hair. I love my wee pup and I don't want to get rid of her - she was the only thing that kept me and my OH sane when we were going through infertility treatment... At the minute, our plans are to put a stair gate up a few months early and keep Sasha downstairs, maybe get rid of the mats etc. and tell MIL she DEFINITLEY has to give up smoking. -she's been telling us that she's only had the odd one or two but she minds DS when OH is at work (shifts, so doesn't pay to put him into a creche). I can't face thinking any further than that just yet.... cross that bridge when I come to it.
I'm also really annoyed with my GP cos I mentioned DS was wheezing when he was 3 months old and again when he was 6 months old... but I'm only an overprotective mother  ... what do I know, apart from my own child. - I thought that the times when Grannies had to take children to the doctor because the doctor didn't listen to the mother had been long gone... I'm wrong it seemsGoal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -
Hi Delly. Try not to worry. DD got an inhaler when she was about the same age and used it about 3-4 times, she hasn't used it since although she does get a bit chesty/wheezy in the winter - but I do too so I think its a family thing. They can't be sure for certain that your son is allergic to the dog unless they do tests- it could be caused by a whole array of things and more than likely the main culprit is cigarette smoke. Even if your MIL insists she does not smoke when DS is there, the smell etc will still linger and he breathes it in. Ask her not to smoke in house when she knows you will be visiting - or tell her you won't bring DS round - that should do the trick!!!Can you try keeping the dog outside for a few days as an experiment - hoover up all the hair and see if DS improves
oh, and STAY AWAY FROM THE SHOP ROUND THE CORNER :rotfl:0 -
Thanks for that Honey:A , I took my chubby dog out for a walk to try and clear my head and it seems to have worked. I don't know who is more out of condition - me or the flipping dog. I'm sure you know it's quite hilly up here and there's a park near my house that I walked her along - I had a stitch in my side before I went up the first hill and the dog was panting the whole way round and has now collapsed in a heap. We haven't been walking her much lately because she was in heat and I couldn't tackle other dogs if they decided to tackle her.
Sorry, forgot my point for a while... anyway, I was trying to find ways to deal with my emotions rather than stuffing my face... it's not going to help DS much if I'm depressed and overweight. That's why I went out for a walk. The shop round the corner has nothing that I want (apart from a packet of fruit pastilles maybe- but I can live without them).
Feel a bit sh*tty telling my MIL not to smoke in her own house - we rely on her to mind DS whilst OH is at work. I've been thinking she was back on the ciggies lately cos I could smell it off DS but I didn't want to say anything.... after all who am I to critisise her for smoking when I can't stop eating!
BTW - OH says to get yourself and DD checked out for asthma still... sometimes it can be triggered by cold weather. (he has asthma but hasn't had an attack since he gave up ciggies 8 years ago but would still wheeze in the winter and if there's cats around.)Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -
jenpoptab wrote:consultant 31- I plan to take it easy on hols, try and stick to WW as much as possible and as I don't really drink it's unlikely I'll be tempted whilst away. Hopefully then I'll be happy enough with my weight to try for a baby- I know it sounds crazy, but as I am now pretty much two stone lighter than when I got pregnant for both of my other children, I have no intentions of going crazy as I have tried sooooo hard to get this weight off and keep it off! It will be interesting to see if my weight loss makes my potential baby lighter than my last 2 as they were 8lb 07 and 08lb 14.
Jen
Good for you - it'll be well worth it when you get home and have to go for your weigh-in! :A
Sadly, I have always understood that each subsequent baby is generally heavier than the last so the next one could well be 9lbs+
Dellybelly I'm sorry to hear about your little one having problems and I really do hope he grows out of it - it's very frightening to see someone suffering with asthma.
Eels Your diet plan looks pretty good apart from the fruit juice (as Faithless said). I honestly believe that the SW way is one of the best for normal, healthy, everyday eating. If you follow the plan you will certainly lose weight and stay healthy at the same time. It's suitable for all ages so you wouldn't have to cook separate meals for the rest of the family. Your love of potato, pasta, rice etc fits perfectly with the Green plan, and they are complex carbs which help to keep you full longer, plus they're full of fibre (well potato & wholemeal pasta is) which will keep you 'going'
Give it a go, I'm sure you'll enjoy it!
Suggs I wondered who did your hair - it's just so 'you' :rotfl:
Lois Glad you like the Banoffee recipe - I love that oneThis one's yummy as well:-
Lemon Meringue Pie
300 gms quark
1 lemon, grated rind and juice
3 medium eggs, separated
4 tbspn granulated sweetener
Preheat oven to 180°C / 350°F / Gas Mark 4.
Beat the Quark in a bowl to make it smooth and creamy. Add lemon rind and juice, egg yolks and 2 tbsp of the sweetener. Share between 4 small heatproof dishes or ramekins. Stand them on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, whip egg whites in a grease-free bowl until they hold their shape. Whisk in remaining powdered sweetener.
Remove desserts from oven and pile meringue on top. Return to oven to bake for 5 more minutes, until golden brown.
Serve chilled.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Hi consultant 31
Your lemon meringue sounds really good and I am likely to need a couple of 'good' desserts as we should be having a party somewhere in the next month or so for family.
Can you tell me how many sins etc it counts as, please0 -
PS Where do I find this banoffee pie everyone keeps talking about?0
