there is only 1 barcode on the item, there arent various barcodes that are different prices, its either a case of the item was priced wrong or you mis-read the shelf edge label
dont mean to be picky but are you usign the quote button to quote posts as they dont seem to be showing correctly,
You know sometime what happens, if there is an offer by store or manager they stick the new barcode but when they scan they scan the old one instead new one.0 -

that doesnt happen, they dont change the barcode like that, ive worrked in retail so i know how it works, when a price changes they change the price on the system(its doen by HO and not the store) and the price controller will print off new tickets for any new price changes and put the new tickets out, there is no adding new barcodes to items0 -

Only time TESCO stick barcodes over is for reductions, eg close to end of date stuff, otherwise it is done on the system.
Sometimes there are a number of barcodes on a product, Dell computers have 4 on, but only one scans on the Tesco tills. The other are for delivery etc.If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550 -

I've seen many times in TESCO, it comes with 2 or 3 barcode and scanned wrong price before and got refund before. Dont tell me you know all in Retail, world is big enough to learn more.
/* i wasnt sure if he was 1 to be honest but ill stop */
don't attack me(anyone) personally, that is really bad. Please be a part of good healthy conversation.0 -
As I have said previously some items at Tesco do have more than one bar code on but only one will scan, the others are either used by the makers or distribution network. I couldn't comment about other shops but I know that is true for Tesco as I deal with them all day every day.If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550

i visited my local tesco in Quinton Birmingham today after seeing the advertisement for half price legs of lamb on national television, only to find none available!! i was told by an assistant that none had been delivered that day!!! i then approached customer services and asked if they could contact another store to find out if there were any available there. i waited half an hour while the assistant tried to get through!! i was eventually told that none of the other tescos within a reasonable distance had any either! this was at 4pm on a Saturday!! i was not offered any form of goodwill gesture and the attitude of the manager 'julie ahern' was one of dismissal and "i cant really be bothered"..,....she went as far as to tell me that this often happens with promotions!
i decided to call the customer services helpline.........so much for HELPline!!! i was met with a similar response, she also outlined that these offers were subject to availability as stated in their advertisements so basically tescos make sure they cover their back dont they?
i just feel that its a bit of a scam!!
i regularly shop at sainsburys but after seeing the advertisement for the half price legs of lamb i obviously decided i would do my shop at tescos. i was lucky that i had time on my side and after my experience at this supermarket i simply went to sainsburys and bought what i needed from there. But how many people, especially ones with children and busy lives simply said "right im here now so i'll just do my shop here" because they were simply too busy to go elsewhere? how many extra customers did this promotion bring through tescos doors? i do not believe that they had 'run out' or not ordered enough i believe its a calculated way of ripping people off!!!
i know without a doubt that if i was busy today i would simply have continued my shop at tescos and bought an overpriced joint of beef instead and i feel that there were probably hundreds perhaps thousands of people today who did just that!!!

What? You are concerned when a PROMOTIONAL offer isn't available near the END of trade on the BUSIEST day of the week for shops!!!;) Get a grip, all offers are subject to availability, not just Tescos. :T:T0
