My dd was 11 months and ds was 10 months
    BUT
my niece didn't show any interest till she was about 16 months

Just think of the money you're saving on shoes! Mine had gone through at least 2 pairs each by the time they were your DD's age! ;)

The baby walker was one of the few baby items that felt like money well spent. Apart from giving confidence and helping her realise she wanted to be mobile, it was one of the most fun "toys" ever. I'll never forget her high-speed three point turns, and squeals of laughter.

She has cruised the furniture for months and will - rather unsteadily!! - walk holding just 1 hand.

I know she'll do it in her own time when she's ready but that doesn't stop the worry at times!!

Thanks for all your helpful, positive comments!

    1st Child 10months
    2nd Child 15 months
3rd Child Can't remember because I'm such a rubbish mum (but if she ever asks I'll tell her 11 months)

So there were 5 months between mine - and they are all normal kids running about now. No difference in any of them. Unless there is something else you're worried about, I seriously wouldn't worry. They all get there.

    2nd 8months!!!!!

I worried about it a lot, but actually, he was just a lazy s0d. Isn't now, though!

My first 3 were all 12 months. My 4th was 19 months. We were getting a wee bit worried but she eventually gained enough confidence and tootled off on her own.

Eldest didnt walk untill 22 months, but then she has a condition that tends to cause late walking - but regardless of this I was told that 'professionals' dont become concerned over lack of walking until child turns 2.

Youngest was 16 months, as were most of the other babies at nursery with her at the time so IMO this isnt actually 'late' walking, Ive worked in nurseries for last 10 years and id say 18 months+ is late and under 12 months is early

    My 1st-9 months
    2nd-18 months
3rd-15 months- so quite a bit of variation there. With the one who was the latest he did walk holding onto the furniture so I knew he could do it. I don't know if it was a lack of confidence or a lack of motivation but he doesn't really like physical exertion today whereas the other 2 are more energetic. Also, I think size and birthdate may make a difference, by that I mean was she born early or late ,or near her due date.
  • My little girl (eldest) walked at 18 months and it took her a long time to get going. My little boy started walking at 13 months and tries to run now- he's a lot more physical than her. He started walking within half an hour of going on holiday. We got into the caravan he took two steps, fell into a huge coffee table, sunk his teeth into his lip and blood everywhere! Hasn't put him off though.
