    If you are near a Sainsbu*ys this weekend - may be worth popping in and checking out their own brand Mincemeat - our local were selling off the standard jars at 5p and the large jars at 10p this morning :D BBE July 2015


    Great for adding to apple pies as well :D

    Thanks for this, I ended up buying the Robertson's ones for 10p - longer shelf life of 2017. :)

  • have the grand terrors (all 4 aged 9 to 2) this weekend . we made ginger snaps , strawberry jam muffins & choc chip cookies ( with some choc I still had left from Xmas )....then grand dad eat most of them !

    I just made a choc cake in a mug for DD1 and I to have between us with some ice cream as we needed a choccie fix. It was yum!

    Thanks, pd, for resurrecting this thread, I was missing something ;)

    Just made a Focaccia kind of bread with pesto that needed to go. Got a compliment from OH that my breads were getting better and better, lol.

    I have made "slimming world curry loaf" for my packed lunches.

    It's a mild curry packet rice cooked in water, then when done a tin of chickpea dhal added, and 3 beaten eggs stirred in well. Bake in oven until golden brown and set. Sounds gross :rotfl: but it's well nice, hot or cold.

    The ones I used are "syn free".
