On with a birthday cake for 4 year old DGD. Made the cake yesterday, this morning filled with fluffy buttercream and jam, then this afternoon will put on the icing (ready rolled I'm afraid as I'm not the best at getting icing smooth!) and then on with the Doc McStuffins cake topper! A pretty matching ribbon round the side will finish it off."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

I'm just about to bake a sponge flan case in the Remoska to freeze away ready for visitors next week.

Grrr, just went to measure out the stuff for my flan case and the eggs were tiny little things, supposed to be medium. Well done Mr. S. I couldn't get any two of them to weigh 4oz so that will have to wait, probably until Monday now. It's not needed until Tuesday but I was trying to get ahead of the field.

A bit of a messy one today, I used an apple and cinnamon cake to carve and it's not the most stable! So the back part kind of sunk, cue filling with buttercream and a cape. The charity seemed happy with it which is the main thing. Am a little baked out now though for the next couple of weeks

last night I made a spinach pie, a loaf and a small blackberry and peach cheesecake. All done in the pizza oven as the main oven broke a few days ago. Not all that successful - pie underdone, bread burnt on top but still nicer than breadmaker or bought bread
but the cheesecake is perfect. First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -
Yesterday I made flapjack and cherry scones. Today I will be aiming to make sure I get some of each before my dad eats them all! He walked into the kitchen while I was mixing yesterday and asked "what are you making me today?" haha!NSDs January - 3/8 2017 total - 3
