  • I've got a loaf of bread and a dozen butterfly cakes to do this morning.

Sister's visiting today and she often brings my hollow-legged 22 year old nephew with her who prowls the cupboards. I have to have something to deflect him.

Baking a spelt white loaf. Third loaf this week and loving them all. Finally think I have solved the deflating loaf problem.

Spent the evening baking and got a bit carried away but cakes now cooled at last and packed away.
    2 Chocolate Cakes
    2 Pear and Ginger Cakes
And my first attempt at Lemon Curd Cake. It seems to have deflated a bit whilst cooling, but tastes good. Had to try it before OH discovers it when he gets up. I used up some out of date duchy lemon curd that was sitting in the back of the fridge. I think its much thicker than the normal cheapy stuff so perhaps that was the problem. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

Well baked two loaves over the last couple of days. Not much planned for a few days. Might do a cauliflower cheese depending on what is in my veg box today.

Cherry and coconut cookies baked at 6am this morning (I have jetlag following our once in a lifetime trip to China!) and couldn't sleep. Had a couple with a cuppa and the Boyf has taken the rest to work.

Going to make a loaf today ready for the weekend- not sure what to add to it- maybe an onion loaf?
