I've made some "healthy" banana and oat muffins, flourless, butterless and sugarless. Just banana, oats, oatbran, yoghurt, egg and canderel.
They are really nice and filling, and free on WW Simple Start! :TBossymoo

I was making bread and butter pudding, but after I'd buttered the bread I realsied I was out of dried fruit so I had to use jam blackcurrant jam instead. And then I realised that the cream I was trying to use up had turned, so I made a sort of thin custard with eggs, milk and a little bit of custard powder instead. Worked out ok but not as nice as the proper version. No idea what to call it!Saving for deposit: Finished! :j
House buying: Finished!

I baked bread today, but it was a bit of a flop. I put too much water in so it was like a giant flat cow pat. It was okay though - the texture was fine, and it was good for cheese on toast.
Hubby made a bread and butter pudding with the leftover bread I made on Wednesday. It was taaaasty!0 -

Nothing baked yet but chicken soup is on the Hob. Can't stop thinking of apple scones. Now do I or don't I ? We could have them for supper:D
The thought of apple scones was too much to resist and so I did end up knocking them up for supper. Had to do 2 batches so that after quality testing there were enough for today. Popped a few in the freezer too.
Now I have the idea of chocolate cake in my head:o OH likes this.0 -

I've had the same problem with the colours in the past - even gels don't turn out vibrant enoughI think the only option is to order them from the US - there are photos all over Blogland & pinterest showing gloriously bright rainbows.
I've made an apricot traybake - mum opened a tin of apricots thinking they were mandarin orangesanyway, she didn't fancy them & so I just put them into a sponge
