I make about 16! We easily go through two or three a day in our house.

You must save a fortune on the cost of shop bought bread then?

I am currently cooking brisket of beef in the oven and it seemed a shame to have a half empty oven so I have done a gingerbread loaf which uses the same oven temperature and it also keeps well if given the chance!

Also done a gingerbread loaf with some gingerbread muffins to use up the extra mixture! Couldn't resist sampling so dinner may be delayed.. :rotfl:

    Hi,
Can I ask those of you who bake their own bread a quick question please?
Where do you put your bread to prove? Do you have your oven on all the time?

I want to try making my own but have a cold kitchen and don't really want to have the oven on all that time it takes to get a loaf made.

    Thanks for any advice.
