Made a banana bread and some eggless chocolate buns. The buns taste good but half the mixture is stuck to the cake cases! Not sure what I did wrong there!December GC £23.43/120 :T

Banana bread and what seems to be about 30million Twinks - first attempt at them and I can see what the fuss is about!
I was half tempted to bake triple choc brownies (my adaptation of a Nigella recipe) but I had neither the time nor the money as popping out shortly to meet my friend's new baby.
Will be having a marathon session next Saturday though - probably various breads and rolls (despite not having baked bread in years  ), basic cupcakes/traybake and millionaire's shortbread. Anything to distract me from studying...Despite the name, I'm actually a laydee!0 -
Mmm, I love ginger biscuits. Do you use ground or fresh? How much do you use?[/QUOTE]
you can use ground or preserved, i would add about a level tsp ground but it depends on your taste, you can add cinnamon too if you like that0 -

I've made a chicken and vegetable pie which i've just put in the oven...does that count?
I spread the remaining pastry with 'marmite' and grated cheese, rolled and sliced, so have some little nibbly bits in too.

What recipe did you use? I use the Be-Ro batter and put a wee bit of lard in each tin and make sure it's smoking hot before the batter goes in, and they come out beautifully.
I finally had to see what all the fuss was about so I've started making some of Twink's hob nobs! The first trayful has just come out, they look lovely and smell even better, hope they taste as good as they smell. Can't wait to scoff some, and I'll give some as a thank you present to a lady from Freecycle who is giving me some Delia books tomorrow.
Thanks Twink :T0 -
Hi All,
Made a ginger cake and some chocolate chip cookies. Made the cookies with marg as I had used the butter up for the ginger cake. They are ok made with marg but not as good as butter. I am sure they will get eaten with my lot but definitely butter next time, just wish it wasn't so expensive!Started Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.
