I baked Nigella's lemon madeira loaf cake today. Last time I made it I used butter (as recommended), but found it heavy and greasy. I used Stork today and it was delicious.
The only problem is that it's now nearly all gone, and I was hoping to have some left to have with a cup of tea tomorrow and over the weekend. Next time I'm going to make 2.0 -
I have really surprised myself today. As a family we eat so much prepacked/ready meals/jars of sauce and I really want to stop it.
Been doing bits for the last couple of weeks but today I made a chicken and bacon pie, had some filling left so made pasties for pack ups.

I have just made Hugh F-W's Beetroot and choc brownies for a moving-in present for my DD. I got the recipe from an old newspaper (Nov 2008) and can't find a link. I will post recipe if someone will tell me if I'm allowed to paraphrase it ? They are BEYOND DELICIOUS....all deeply chocolatey and gooey, but not sickly sweet. You'd never know the beetroot was there so good for hiding veg if you need to . Not sure I can give them to her now, much too nice to give away.....:D
Aha, just found a link:

I'm having another crack at making shortbread - this time it's a Delia recipe. Shortbread is my nemesis. One day I'll get it right.0
