HM veg soup. We had loads of swede and carrots that needed using so threw it all in with stock, garlic, leeks, celery & seasoning. Then thought it might be nice with some beans in it, so raided freezer & found black-eye beans so they went in. Cooked & then blitzed it..... yummy :D. We love our HM soups & it's amazing what can be produced. The flavours are wonderful.

Also made Toffee cake (rice krispies, toffees, marshmallows & butter). Takes me back to my childhood many moons ago lol.

And a shepherds pie for dinner tomorrow and a huge bowl of cous cous with lots of chopped peppers & salady bits in it for DH lunches this week.

Mini apple pie thingy- using one slightly past its best bramley (a big one), sprinkle of sugar, and some pastry I made a while back which I defrosted over night- think it might not even be sweet pastry but with the sugar on it, and served with cream it will be yum! Also making mince n tatties with cauli cheese for tea :).
ETA Apple pie thingy was scrummy- tbh one of my best lol.....and made with scraps really!

I did half white half brown bread with cheese in it as well. Just had some with tea while it was still warm and it was lovely. I am looking forward to trying it with HM chicken liver pate on it

  • Today I baked a spicy orange cake with the orange left over from last week's pancakes.

It was economical using only 1 egg and I cooked it in the Remoska so little fuel used to bake it.

I covered it with a slightly runny orange icing so it would dribble over the edges. Twas yummy.
