This is one area of baking in which I use the graduated eyeball method - helps me to cut down on the butter and sugar content and still tastes just fine.
I'm not confident enough to use that method!:o
You're right though.You could juggle the quantities a bit.;)0 -

To make a crumble topping you need:
100g plain flower
100g sugar
100g unsalted butter
100g ground almonds or porridge oats
Mix the flour and sugar.Add the butter (cut up into pieces) and rub in to the flour/sugar mix with your fingers until it looks like coarse crumbs.Stir in the oats or almonds. This is enough for 6 servings.
Hope it's good!C.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z #7 member N.I splinter-group co-ordinaterI dont suffer from insanity....I enjoy every minute of it!!.:)

Just making a double batch of chocolate brownies for OH's birthday tomorrow.
I am having to cook them for quite a bit longer than a normal sized batch so I hope that the edges don't dry out before the middle is cooked.
I must say that this thread usually makes me feel really hungry!:D0 -
Made 4 loaves of bread, a sticky ginger cake, and 22 choc chip buns. I'm going to do biscuits and flapjacks tomorrow. Probably.0

Not today, but last Monday we finally made twinks hobnobs. They were very chunky as I expected them to spread and flatten, but were delicious and I froze half the dough. Can't believe we've not made them sooner...Bossymoo

What are twinks hobnobs? Heard these mentioned before. Am assuming they are some kind of biscuit? :rotfl:0 -
