Thats exactly what my thinking was! Going to bake some stuff for the girls at work, and i think mini ones will make less waste than one big one. Will report back!
I think my children would like them in their lunchboxes. They watched Great British Bakeoff with me and were all quite taken with the mini Victoria cakes which one of the contestants made.0 -
Hehe - thats where i got my idea from! My recipe is from the bake off book. Will make them shortly, let the cool, then cut out the small sponges and assemble the cakes.

I'm sure I've seen someone baking cakes that size in old baked bean tins or the like - just can't remember where I saw it.0 -

I'm doing a sausage casserole today with sausages, onions, carrots, peppers, peas, mushrooms and a mix for 15p. Going to serve with a baked potato.0

I've made a birthday cake for my DH this morning - it's cooling down before I make the buttercream for the middle. Most of the flapjacks I made yesterday have already been eaten :whistle::D0

I've made a Swedish almond cake,very simple to make and delicious to eat with some lightly whipped cream.It's a Dan Lepard recipe,if anyone's interested.

The cake's very easy to make because the butter is melted and doesn't have to be beaten with the egg/sugar,so a lot less hassle.0 -
I made a batch of apple strudel muffins which are divine and have filled the house with a gorgeous spicy scent.
Also made a cheese and onion quiche for lunch tomorrow
