Those brownies are amazing, I didn't use nuts as DS2 is convinced he doesn't like them - even though he eats snickers and peanuts, lol!

  • I made flapjacks for the 1st time ever today....it was Nigella's recipe with some chocolate drops added. Silly question time.....do you leave it in the tin until it is cold before trying to remove it? I cut it into squares then triangles and when I tried to lift it out it just fell apart...tasted great though :) I'm assuming that I do!
I also made fairy cakes, expertly decorated in pink by my 4yr old daughter!

Does anyone have a recipe for empire biscuits that they wouldn't mind sharing? Thanks!

They are good - I have the book and have made a few times:)
  • I had a bit of a mad turn in the kitchen this afternoon/evening and baked the following: -
    Mixed fruit scones.
Rhubarb and custard cake from the Good Food website ( I was actually looking for a rhubarb fool recipe at the time). Looks absolutely delicious, but have to make space after my dinner.
Brown bread and rolls, had a bad experience with brown bread in the breadmaker a couple of weeks ago. Found a 'foolproof' recipe so made on the dough setting in BM and proved and baked in oven. Just waiting for them to cool and then will check for perfection. If not successful then the flour will be binned.
Also made a Macaroni Cheese and a Prawn Curry.

First time I have missed my dishwasher, all that washing up!!!
