I made a leek and bacon quiche for dinner. We had it with broccoli coated in cheese sauce.

I made some ground rice biscuits for the first time today from a recipe posted on this board somewhere a while back and they're really fab. So, many thanks to whoever it was. On a non-baking front I made some red lentil pate also from a new recipe and it's chilling in the fridge before I take it round to my friends' house tomorrow.

Later today I'll be baking lasagne, and while that's in the oven I'll make a batch of rock buns or some coconut fairy cakes (yum yum!)

Made a double batch of cupcakes & iced them for the first time with my piping bag.:j Most have gone in the freezer as I didn't have enough buttercream but they are very tasty, hopefully won't eat them all today if they're in the freezer:rotfl:

Also received a replacement kneading blade for my breadmaker this morning so I've already got some on the go. Does anyone know how to make other things in the breadmaker as I've got lots of options but don't know where my recipe book for it is.

Yesterday I made a lamb flan for dinner, and an iced lemon traybake (DDs request as she has given up everything chocolatey for Lent!)

Today so far I have made cheese scones for lunch (as we didn't have anything other than cheese to go in sandwiches, and DD and DS have cheese sandwiches most days for their pakced lunch!)

Having pizzas tonight (thanks to Pizza Express 4 for £20 vouchers) so don't need to cook dinner- might use the times gained to cook something else, but haven't decided what yet!)

Chocolate sponge, orange syrup sponge, the pork in BBQ cola for dinner tonight. Snowed in here so I suspect the cakes won't last too long ;-)
  • Today, whilst listening to football I am going to be making; weetabix cake, pineapple cake and smartie and choc chip cookies, may make a rocky road too as have a few bits and pieces that need using up or some mint choc brownies to use the after eight chocolate santas that the kids had in their stockings and don't appear to like.....
Real men never follow instructions; after all they are just the manufacturer's opinion on how to put something together. :p

In a slight change to the coconut cakes, I made some little coconut tarts from the Be-Ro cookbook. Oh... words fail me. New favourite cake. mmm

I made cheese and bacon bread for lunch, sourdough and wholemeal bread for later in the week.

Some friends are cooking curry for us tonight, so I've made Nigella's Rocky Road to take with us for pudding :)
