I seem to have managed to mess up most of my baking today, made one big quiche, overcooked the blind baking a bit, 12 mini quiches came out soggy, 12 jam tarts overcooked and I overcooked the flapjacks! Oh well, best to mess up all in one go!

Just to make you feel a bit better, I made a quiche last night together with some sliced baby potatoes and onions. Well, so what you might say.

Put them in the oven with a dish of ground rice and when the quiche was ready, took it out and both 1/4 of the quiche and 1/2 the potatoes were swimming in rice.

  • Today has been a bit more successful than yesterday.

Made a variation of the raisin bread from the BM thread, extra large loaf and absolutely yummy.

Dinner went without a hitch, it was a throw it all dinner. Scrummy.

Now am waiting for a sun dried tomato bread in the BM.

How did I fit it all in, been working all day!!!

well, its Tuesday so its making day with the twin GDs! today we did THEIR version of Rocky Roads! they were told its melted choc like for choc krispies but we put in some bashed up bickies, some marshmallows and dried fruit - also nuts if they want!
    they chose
    choc chip cookies
    sultanas
    mini marshmallows
    and walnuts.
I wouldnt choose walnuts again but the girls loved them! and did really well making them - hardly any help from me! (they are only six years old)!

I did 'bake' a cheese and ham pasta bake for OH for supper though - with everything except the ham cooked from scratch! very very nice!

    As bread? No! :p
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.
  • I am attempting to make a loaf of 'edible' bread :rotfl: Who knows how it will turn out but I am sure that with all the help from the lovely ladies on here I will get there in the end :D

I made fork biscuits from a Mary Berry book last night. I did one batch of 'plain' and one of choc. The verdict from the boys at work is that the plain ones are best! I've decided I should have my cook books confiscated really until after the wedding or my dress won't fit......the biscuits were a bit morish!!
