  • Its the American term for grilling under the grill, as opposed to ontop of a grill like a BBQ :)

Ahh right I was sat here thinking that it was a mix between boiling and grilling, we had it once when we went to NYC and loved it but didn't know how to make it.

Sounds unusual. Is it a cake or a type of bread?

In the oven as I type: blueberry sponge cake (I had frozen blueberries to use up)

Does anyone have a really nice biscuit/cookie recipe? We have some, but they're never amazing and was just wondering if you wonderful people had any recipes you'd really recommend :) Anything biscuit/cookie-ish is good!

I love making Anzac Biscuits they are so yummy I have to freeze them but then one day in desperation I tried one from the freezer and it was even better!!!:D

this recipe is from the Mary Berry Baking Bible

    150g softened butter
    1 Tablespoon golden syrup
    175g gran sugar
    75g SR flour
    75g desiccated coconut
    100g porridge oats

    Pre heat oven at 180/fan 160/gas 4

Put butter, golden syrup and sugar into pan and heat gently until butter melted and sugar dissolved. Stir in flour, coconut and oats and mix well.

Place large teaspoonfuls of mixture well apart on greased baking trays and flatten slightly with the back of a spoon - you will need to bake them in batches unless you have a massive oven!

Bake 8-10 mins until spread flat and brown at edges. Leave to cool on trays for a few mins (or they break up) then lift off with palette knife and cool on wire rack.

Mary says.... if the biscuits harden too much to get off trays pop back in oven for a few minutes to soften - mine don't have time to harden completely cos i've normally started scoffing them at this stage!!!:p
