I did this beautiful orange and white chocolate cake - http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/5524/orange-and-white-chocolate-sponge It was quite easy to make and the end result tasted divine! A very unusal cake and everyone commented how lovely it was, I would definitely recommend it! :)

well, my heating wasnt working again today (it seems to be on a three day week), so rather than freeze or cook chicken way too early for lunch I decided to make a couple of open tarts to take up mums for tea.
so I made a treacle tart and a jam tart. jam tart is simple but I hadnt made treacle tart before and just about remembered mum making it (its her favourite tart).
of course, she spotted immediately I hadnt added any lemon rind or juice (cos I didnt have any), so she is feeling smug now that HER treacle tart was far better than mine - LMAO. makes no diff to me - cant stand the stuff! still, it made her feel on cloud nine, and she did concede after that my pastry was very nice!
(she doesnt bake at all now that she is on her own and was thrilled that i remembered her favourite and made it for her- so now I have the warm and fuzzies!)
Then I baked the chicken for lunch - with some lovely roasted butternut squash and parsnips. yummmy

Mmmm, Adelight - those scones sound lovely. Might have to try those! I've baked ribs today - some with shop-bought BBQ marinade and others with a homemade Chinese style marinade with honey, garlic, ginger, sherry, chilli powder, 5 spice powder and a splash of lemon juice. Oh my, they were good... Mmmmm
