Mini treacle tarts today, because I had lots of stuff to use up (pastry trimmings, manky lemons, stale bread).
I have loads more manky lemons and can't decide what to do with them. Also have four manky bananas but I don't fancy muffins or banana bread. Nigella Kitchen has a recipe for banana, coconut and cherry loaf, I might make some mini ones and freeze them.0 -

Today I made an applesauce cake.....not sure if I like it or not...might have been a bit heavy handed with the nutmeg, but it is rich and sticky and moist so I will probably mentally file it as one to try again at some point.0

A carrot cake, nice and healthy - just 200g of sugar, 250g of full fat cream cheese, a nice nob of butter and not forgetting a little extra icing sugar - the New Year diet, lovely
