I've taken advantage of the morning/all day sickness not being too bad today.... so today I've made a trifle with leftover sponge, a beef and Guinness stew with dumplings, a Guinness loaf, raspberry muffins and a stem ginger and caraway seed cake.... oh and a vegetable soup! Busy busy! Loving the ideas on here think I may have a go at the weetabix cake when this lot is gone.....tomorrow probably !

I made a couple of toad in the holes for tea - the batter always gets eaten in one go, but that gives us some baked sausages for leftovers. :D

  • I've made Corned Beef Stew for tea and have some Ciabatta rolls proving at the moment to go with it (yum!).

Found some dodgy-looking parsnips in the fridge so have them in the oven roasting at the moment and as soon as they come out they'll make a lovely Spicy Roasted Parsnip Soup for the freezer.

Back to work tomorrow so won't have nearly as much time to be able to cook then (nooooooooo!!!!) :(

Over the festive period I did a lot of baking, we had some left over turkey from christmas day so on wednesday I put it in some gravy with mushrooms and left overnight in a roasting tray the next day I made my own short crust pastry and cooked it all in my new pie maker they came out brilliantly :)

Then on Saturday night it was MIL2B'S birthday yesterday I cooked a marble cake and then decorated it yesterday with icing and chocolate fingers :)

I used my kenwood chef mixer for the cake it was brilliant :)

  • Just about to make:

Lemon and chocolate cakes for OH's birthday (will be sandwiched with lemon curd & lemon icing on top with probably some kind of chocolate for decoration)
Chocolate chunk brownies for part of a friend's bday present
Biscuits (since the oven will be on anyway!)

Also made yoghurt this morning in my shiny new yoghurt maker!
  • Hi, yesterday I baked a birthday cake for my daughter. This morning I assembled & decorated it, she loved it! Also made lentil & bacon soup. I seem to be living on soup at the moment as I'm getting over flu virus and can't manage much else._pale_
