Oooh thanks for that - I worked out that I could add choc chips but only have ground ginger at home andwasnt sure it would be strong enough. Mind you its always worth a shot............

    Hi

Forgot to add ground ginger. They'll be fine without the crystallised ginger.

Today I made a apple crumble. Lovely in this cold weather and only took 30 mins.

NOM NOM NOM!!! I've just made twinks with ginger and choc and they are delish (eating one while still warm 'cos I couldnt resist the smell :o)

I used a pack of Mr T own choc buttons and a mix of ginger paste and finfer powder. Was slightly concerned 'cos I thought I'd put too much paste in (by accident) but they are lovely and tangy. Thank you very much GetRealBabe - much appreciated :D

Made delia's creole Xmas cake. You soak the fruit in booze for a week and then just hurl in a bit of flour sugar butter and egg and 4 hours later there is the booziest , squidgiest fruit cake you ever saw. We don't really like fruit cake much, but we like this ! On Xmas eve I shall put whole dried fruits and nuts on top, glaze it and add a pretty ribbon and it'll be done. easy and delicious !

Not baked today (after yesterday's marathon) but taught my sister, online via facebook, how to make soda bread, so she has made one loaf now and is loving it - spread the word, I say! The first soda bread baked in Seville, I bet! hehehe
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Made a white loaf in the bm. We normally have wholemeal, mixed with granary, but was taking some for our elderly neighbour with some h/m soup and I was pretty sure she couldn't eat granary.

Then some hobnobs (my recipe always has ground ginger in), then cheesy biscuits. These are lovely, it's a basic recipe, I think the same one is on here, using 100g each flour, butter & cheese, but I've changed it to:

    Oaty cheesy biscuits
    60g plain flour
    60g oatmeal
    100g butter/marg/spread
    75g strong cheddar, grated.

Mash all together with a fork (or use processor), form into log, wrap in clingfilm, put in fridge or freezer for 30 mins.
Cut into really thin slices, put onto parchment-lined sheets.
Bake at about 160-170c (I did 160 in a fan oven) for about 10 mins.
Leave a few mins then the easiest way is to slide sheet of parchment onto wire racks to cool.
    This mix made about 70:)

Well, after about 18 months of just reading through all the fab. recipes collected from this site, I had an irresistable urge to have a go at something today. Think it must have something to do with the kids being off school, me feeling marooned at home and it being a tad wintry outside!! :rotfl:So.....(big drum roll.....)here's to my first-ever batch of the famous Twinks Hobnobs!! Went down a treat, not many left...guess what the kids have asked me to make again? I managed to grab a couple for myself, just in time. Great -- will definitely be making them again!:j
