Today I mixed all the ingredients for one victoria sponge. Only then I decided I would make cupcakes instead out of it. Iced them with buttercream icing.

I also made some flapjack but didn't have any syrup so instead put some home made plum jam through it and also a few cubes of chocolate.

DP has had two cakes and said they are lovely! I'm going to try some flapjack now!

    Hi

I was looking at that recipe yesterday. What happened?

i think the sauce ie spices, vinegar, flour was ok, but i didnt have all the veg she used and only red onions so the piccililli is more like pinkilli:p
put it in the cupboard to mature, so will see how it turns out in a month or two. i just didnt have as much fun as i did when making the chutney, think ill stick to just buying cheap piccilli and progress to differemt combinations for the chutney

    thanks for asking

Forgot to post a couple of days ago made a chocolate spice cake- first time. Was from Bero cookbook- might leave out the mixed peel next time though!
Made chocolate scotch pancakes this morning and also got bread dough in the BM (I prefer to hand shape).

hi, i usually just adapt a basic delia smith recipe for scones
you could then just add your cheese, chives etc

    Hi,

I baked today my first victoria sponge which isn't a lead weight. Its not my first sponge, but its risen and soft.

Electric hand mixer has made all the difference.

I even weighed the eggs :D, although I think this resulted in abit too much flour, so I don't think I'll do that next time.
