Am gonna start baking with the kids on Saturday aft, they are 4.5 and 3. I have done fairy cakes, cookies and basic biscuits with them, is there anything else fairly simple to make with them? Also can anyone reccommend a book with a good array of baking recipes?

    Thanks

What about peppermint things (nope thats not the technical term.........creams :D) I have been thinking about doing these with DS (he's nearly 4)

Mince and potato pie - yesterday, we had two portions last night and four others for the freezer.

Spag bol today, or the bol bit anyway, I know this is standard fair on here, but I've not made it since I was at school, :D this one had red wine in, I don't think the one at school called for that!!

I made a batch of rock cakes today. It's so long time since I made these. They're so simple and quick. They taste delicious. I had decided to make every recipe from my Jill Brand book 'WI book of cakes' and this was the recipe I choose for today :j

Oh, and also made a creamy potato and onion creamy soup with thyme. It was so nice, that we ate too much with our home-made bread and now there isn't enough for tomorrow's lunch as we had planned.

    .

Ah - Rock Cakes......my Mum used to make those when I was a girl. Best rock cakes in the world! lol and actually, I don't think I've had one since the ones Mum used to make, which is (cough) a few years back now.

Mum used to put a couple of drops of vanilla essence in hers

Not baked anything today, but did a lovely, calorie filled Pork Satay Curry tonight.

    Hi Hippeechiq! :j

Well I feel like a real housewife now...i bought myself a lemon zester! hahaha (hubby is still in shock!)

All i need to do now is learn the art of home-cooking whilst actually being able to keep the kitchen clean at the same time! :o

Think I may have to go find the section about cheaper grocery shopping though as it seems to be getting out of control - oh well at least the food tastes nicer and the house smells nice :)
