i have made a wonderful light sponge cake for the first time, its been ages since i made something new usually stick to the favourites but it was so easy to make and a fine autumn flavour with the stem ginger and mixed spice it

i'll post recipe if anyone would like it0 -

Yesterday we made some macaroons,which unfortuanately are a bit crisp-we think our mistake was to use large and not medium eggs.Also a plain Victoria sponge in my new sponge tins-a Mary Berry recipe.It's very good and my first attempt.
Today we've tried a coffee Victoria sponge,which is wickedly delicious!Another Mary Berry recipe.I feel like a proper baker now!0 -

I made the following in batches of four meals each ahead of what I know is going to be a busy week. Shepherds Pie, Chilli con carne, chicken curry.January GC: £64.81/£80.00

sultana tea loaf

oat, fruit and nut biscuit bars - without sugar
If I'm over the hill, where was the top?0 -
125g plain flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp mixed spice
2 eggs
140g soft brown sugar
125g butter melted
55g chopped chrystallized ginger
50g toasted sesame seeds
sift flour soda ginger mixed spice and pinch salt
beat together eggs and sugar add melted butter
fold in flour mixture
add chrystallized ginger and half sesame seeds
pour into lined tin ( I used 8 x 8 size )
sprinkleon remainder seeds
cook 180 c 20 mins
