  • Hi, I'm always nosing at this thread so I thought it about time I contributed! Today I baked a big lemon cake and not sure if it counts but I'm about to make a blackberry and apple crumble. Very excited about the crumble as we foraged the fruit ourselves this weekend - yay! Just off to find a recipe now, can you tell I'm a novice at this OS living?!

today i have made a fruit loaf cake, 2 dozen lemon fairy cakes, large tray of custard slices big pan of leek and potato soup and fruit flan and ice cream for tea. a productive day i think.
  • Leek and potato soup, tomato sauce for pasta, bread and butter pudding, bread, pizza bases and an uncooked coleslaw - busy, busy, busy but happy with results. Doesn't it make you feel good when you stand back and admire all your hard work?
  • How funny two people made leek and potato soup.... I made a chower recipe found in Sept issue of Sainsbury magazine (bacon, sweetcorn, red pepper leek and potato).

I am eyeing on baking some nice moist sweet cinnamon rolls. I can almost taste it http://www.google.co.uk/images?hl=en&q=cinnamon%20roll%20recipe&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&biw=1260&bih=642
Money is not the root of all evil.
It depends on how you obtain it and how you use it.

Have you sold your soul to the devil?
  • I am just waiting for a plum tarte tatin to cool a little to test my experimenting!

I made pizza dough in the breadmaker and DH and I had a pizza each for dinner. I felt very very cheaty using the breadmaker for dough, normally I always do it by hand but I was curious to see how it would turn out and it was so easy and the dough was so nice I'll definitely do it again.

Also made a batch of little chocolate & rice crispie biscuits out of one of my WW cookbooks, but wasn't too keen on them (I'm really not a fan of chocolate biscuits, believe it or not) so they have gone to work with DH where they will be devoured gratefully.

What else... oh yes, I made us some scotch pancakes with maple syrup for breakfast, as I had an unexpected day off work thanks to my nice boss. But that doesn't really count as baking.
  • OH made me the most wonderful gluten free bread, and I made a swiss roll (also GF) while warming up the oven for the bread. His bread turned out wonderful, best he's made so far, my roll turned out great taste-wise, but fell apart, think I added one too many egg.
