cazza, I know (as others have said) your plan isn't entirely foolproof but it's a plan and will help you move forward from where you are now where you don't want to be. I suggest you have a good long talk with your partner becasue her support (plus ours;)) will help you too. Hugs for you and keep in touch.

fay, glad the house was agreeable even if you're not certain yet. I must admit the balcony and seaview might have clinched it for me. I'm ashamed to say we have quite a large garden which badly needs a revamp but neither of us has the inclination. OH keeps it in order but I know it could be so much more.

castri, how you're feeling could very easily be down to being AF. Stick with it and drink lots (:eek:IYKWIM)

I'm definitely going to FAFF tonight (with Holby and a hairwash).
  • Hi everyone,

I'm back again to join you in another atempt at being AF.

Some of you may remember that I did 7 consecutive days of AF that included a weekend in January, which is unheard of for me, but since then I have slipped back into the drinking everynight again.

Yesterday I had another wake up call, went away for Valentines weekend and in a way the Alcohol took over again and put dampner on it. Sneaked some vodka with me in the overnight bag.

I was AF last night, but really did not have much sleep at all and like someone else has said here I have had a headache all day. If you can't sleep do you get up and do some housework, go on MSE etc. until you feel tired, I was tempted last night.

Also do you have any remedies for getting rid of severe Red Eyes from lack of sleep and/or drinking too much.

This morning I must have tried 3 lots of eyedrops, it just looks awful. I am gong to be AF again this evening.

I will pledge 6 days for this month, which I know isn't much but at least it is a start, I will be on holiday for 1 week in Feb so hope to make more of an effort in March.

During the 7 days in January I was AF I felt so proud of myself and felt much better, and after the first 4 days was sleeping really well. I want this again, but don't know how to handle social events, all my socialising has and still does revolve around pubs and drinking.

Thinking of you Cazza, I remember you from before.
Castrio we are going through same thing with the headaches, hopefully tomorrow will be better.

    Habbit

I blatently cheated, was intending on making own pastry but ran out of time due to playing solitaire *rolleyes* so picked up pastry in Mr T's, they had an offer, 2 for 2 quid so couldn't decide if I wanted shortcrust or puff pastry, so bought one of each :D shortcrust for bottom and puff for top.

Before going to Mr T's I did google some pie recipes and this is 'kinda' my take on a bechamel sauce...

This is basically what I did, though I have no measuring implements (sp?) so total guess work  (thank god it worked!). Chucked about 50g butter in a pan and about 50g of flour (just tipped it out the packet, about 10% of a full 500g packet :o), stirred that for a couple of minutes, not too hot cos it'll burn. Then I chucked in 'about' 150ml of milk, 150ml of double cream and 150ml of stock, season well, stir for a bit then take off heat. I had loads of chicken that I'd stripped off from my left overs from night before, chucked all that in. Then quartered half a pack of chestnut mushrooms and chucked them in. While that was cooling I did the pastry (or rather, unwrapped it :D). Put shortcrust on bottom then, making sure chicken filling is cooled, put that in the pie then put the top bit of pastry on (the puffed variety :D). Brush (or in my case teaspoon...) some egg wash on pastry, make a hole in the middle to let steam escape. Then cook on gas mark 4 (no idea of electric temp, sorry) for about an hour or so in my case as it was a very large pie . Insides are cooked so it's just a matter of making sure the pastry will be cooked through. I'm going to branch out and make my own pastry next time

    HTH :D

It's the precision involved that gets me

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

It did look lovely, babes :D

I am FAFFing tonight - hopefully with some pancakes later on tonight with lemon juice and sugar or treacle.

    Back later on

Caz - please try AA with the stage you are at - if you are a student nurse you need to consider your own health and not separate the 2 off. Alcohol will catch up with you in a few years and the damage will show in one way and others.
