  • Feel much better today now hangover has gone. Got on scales this morning though and am at the heaviest I have ever been  None of my clothes fit me and it is all down to the the wine because the daft thing is I am so careful with what I eat and I go to the gym. Very depressing but this has made me even more determined to give up!

Fedup - I quite fancy watching Star Trek again, I hired it on Virgin but wasn't really paying attention. What I saw was very good though!

I'm off for a lurk and then to bed, sober and reasonably happy :A

  • Hi, just signed up to this website. I'm really serious about cutting down the amount I drink and would really appreciate some support. I just can't talk to my friends or family about alcohol.

    Hello and welcome Newme :D

This thread is excellent and nobody judges you, we are all in it together whether it's cutting down or stopping completely. I have found it to be so supportive.

It's a very busy thread too so someone will be along shortly to add to this - I'm not the most eloquent person here!!

Hey new me - hello and welcome. You'll find alot of support here - lots of different stories.

Sometimes its not easy to talk to those around you , especially about alcohol - here's a little easier, you'll find alot of honesty, acceptance and straightforward (always heartfelt) talking. It might help to allow you to think things through and find your feet.

There were a few links posted earlier in this thread for websites with some good information if you have a look back you'll find some good links.

I'm off to bed to read my book now, I hope you are OK, they're a lovely bunch on here - night night.
