    Hello and welcome Newme :D

This thread is excellent and nobody judges you, we are all in it together whether it's cutting down or stopping completely. I have found it to be so supportive.

It's a very busy thread too so someone will be along shortly to add to this - I'm not the most eloquent person here!!

Very eloquently said - and you do have a rather fine avatar, I posted it on my diary a day ago - what a coincidence!

Night squizz, so glad you're sober and happy!

    Very chatty on here tonight.

Welcome new me. It's very understandable not wanting to talk to friends about alcohol but you can talk as much as you like on here (I think the word gobby has been used). Good luck with your giving up/cutting down, whatever you choose.

jo, hope you got on OK at the dentist this afternoon.

 to everyone and hugs to those who had a bad day.

I've been ever so good today. Refused a wee dram and so toasted Rabbie Burns with a cup of tea.

    10AF please HB.
  • Thanks for the kind messages. I tend to always have a drink (or two or three) before I go to bed. Last night I didn't. One day at a time. It sounds crazy, but I feel embarrassed even now talking about this sat in front of the computer. Ho hum. It sounds like you guys are very supportive on here so I shall certainly be lurking and posting a bit too.
    Thanks again! NMx

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Morning Shaggy & Lurks and all to follow

Thanks for good dentist wishes, all went well. Apparently it's a old scar from the ulcer from hell I had last year that left me looking like I was sucking on a tennis ball. He said I am catching with my wisdom tooth which is impacted (i.e. not fully emerged). He said he can see from my notes I was told during the ulcer saga and is telling me again that it needs extracting as it will be an ongoing problem :undecided.

I said 'listen up matey, you are lucky to see me in this chair, going into a hospital to have my mouth mucked around with it NOT happening. (Especially after my 'google fingers' took over when I got home, should never have googled 'wisdom tooth extraction' then went onto the NHS site and read 'procedure' and 'complications') oh no way Jose :naughty: (ETA: under complication it said, one of the complications of general anesthetic could be death.....but that's only rare *rolleyes*.....)

Anyway, hopefully it will clear up on it's own :D

Newme  welcome :D Look forward to speaking to you.

    HB, I'm on 10 now please :)

Lurks, hope you okay sweetie? xx

Gotta rush, late for work

Oh, before I run, I actually jumped out of bed when the alarm went off this morning  I'm exhausted but very very chipper :D:D:D

Welcome Newme! is it too early to put 26 AF? I was v tempted at weekend but my sons helped me and the thought of my bed and sleeping without a drink! then found out it was that * week!

The Telegraph did report it was Blue Monday on the 17th and so did the BBC am tv! If you google it both dates come up, though I suppose we were told incorrect last week, however, I had mine last Monday :rotfl:
