Morning,
Welcome mewme - you'll get lots os support here - just jump in a keep posting.
Jo, I am so glad your mouth is OK and it's your wisdom teeth. I've had on/off wisdom pain for years (like I'm teething, very sore) but it always goes away and as I don't have a flip top head I'm with you on the 'wild horses wouldn't drag me to a hospital'.
Another AF day yesterday although there were a few bells around the witching hour when the kids were winding me up a bit. But I feel great today actually so here's to keeping it up.
Faye, I won't set a target again for February, just take it a day at a time. I'm away for a couple of weeks (at the end of feb) with only occasional internet so I'll keep you updated as much as I can.
Shelly, as you're careful with what you eat and going to the gym, if you can knock the booze on the head hopefully you'll drop weight quite quickly (and regain the wardrobe!)
Have a nice day everyone.Trying to keep in budget.

Had a bit of a fitful nights sleep as had Piglet in with me. He's quite poorly bless him with a bad cough, a temperature etc. Think its a virus. Keeping him dosed up, topped up with fluids and calpol! He was up at 6am so I feel a midday nap coming on :rotfl:

Got on scales this morning though and am at the heaviest I have ever been  None of my clothes fit me and it is all down to the the wine because the daft thing is I am so careful with what I eat and I go to the gym. Very depressing but this has made me even more determined to give up!
Good luck.
What's amazing is that we can be so disciplined in many areas of our lives, but where alcohol is concerned it is all bets are off.
We slave for hours in the gym, at work, in our relationships, etc etc and then undo all that good work for a few glasses of wine.
My goals and ambitions would always change to accommodate alcohol - so I wouldn't go to the gym if there was a chance of a drink somewhere for example. Most normal people change their drinking to suit their goals. I changed my goals to suit my drinking.
Thank god it isn't like that any more0 -
Hi, just signed up to this website. I'm really serious about cutting down the amount I drink and would really appreciate some support. I just can't talk to my friends or family about alcohol.
Open up and talk to people on this thread, or to a Dr or an Alcohol advisory worker.
Our secrets hurt us the most, and many people drink on their secrets. By airing these secrets (such as something done in the past, or the amount you are drinking) it takes a lot of the power away from them.
It surprises me when I did talk to people about alcohol they told me how much they themselves were drinking..........people who drink a lot are very guarded around the subject0 -

No worries - you're on the list - and I'm doing the same taking one day as it comes and getting to the next - so lets see how we go!
As is Miss P - duely noted!

Thanks everyone for all you helpful comments so far. :T It is such a relief to be able to open up and "talk" to other people who are going through the same thing.
Hi to Newme, I know exactly where you are coming from as I find it hard to confess all to my family and friends...have tried to talk to a my husband and a couple of close friends but they just make a joke of it (probably because my binge drinking is to them just part of my nature) so I end up playing it down. Mind you my last few binges have been bad enough for my husband to raise his concerns (even though he too drinks far too much himself).
Would like to got for 28 days in Feb but think this might be too difficult so Fay please could you put me down for 24 in Feb?
X shelly0
