I have now received the 3rd letter in the process chain from G24, the (FINAL NOTICE)
It does not look very official and is only in black and white, hopefully people are getting to know about their scam and are not paying up so making times tough for G24. I will attach a link to the 1st and 3rd letters to show others what they look like when I can, don’t have the 2nd! I used it to start the bbq the other day.:rotfl:
I wait with baited breath for the next instalment and will keep you updated.:mad:0 -

Meaning
Breathing that is subdued because of some emotion or difficulty.
Origin
Which is it - bated or baited? We have baited hooks and baited traps, but bated - what's that? Bated doesn't even seem to be a real word, where else do you hear it? Having said that, 'baited breath' makes little sense either. How can breath be baited? With worms?
There seems little guidance in contemporary texts. Search in Google and you'll find about the same number of hits for 'baited breath' as 'bated breath'. In one of the best selling books of all time - Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, (whose publisher could surely have afforded the services of a proof-reader), we have:"The whole common room listened with baited breath."As so often, help is found in the writings of the Bard. The earliest known citation of the phrase is from Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice, 1596:What should I say to you? Should I not say'Bated' is just a shortened form of 'abated', meaning 'to bring down, lower or depress'. 'Abated breath' makes perfect sense and that's where the phrase comes from.
'Hath a dog money? is it possible
A cur can lend three thousand ducats?' Or
Shall I bend low and in a bondman's key,
With bated breath and whispering humbleness, Say this;
'Fair sir, you spit on me on Wednesday last;
You spurn'd me such a day; another time
You call'd me dog; and for these courtesies
I'll lend you thus much moneys'?
Geoffrey Taylor, in his little poem Cruel, Clever Cat, 1933, used the confusion over the spelling of the word to good comic effect:Sally, having swallowed cheese
Directs down holes the scented breeze
Enticing thus with baited breath

BTW. It's not a "PCN", and if the term "PCN" appears on it, then the issuer has committed a criminal offence.0

Not sure you're right there.
I wasn't aware PCN was a protected TLA [three letter abbreviation].
If they use the word PENALTY as in PENALTY Charge Notice then that's naughty, but PCN in relation to PARKING Charge Notice is afaicr legal.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I think you will Find Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970 covers it.40 Punishment for unlawful harassment of debtors.
(1) A person commits an offence if, with the object of coercing another person to pay money claimed from the other as a debt due under a contract, he—
(d) utters a document falsely represented by him to have some official character or purporting to have some official character which he knows it has not.0 -

Ah, now I know you're definitely wrong.
There is no offence committed in using the initials PCN to denote a Parking Charge Notice.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I have now had 2 parking tickets issues from G24 in Braintree Freeport, I paid my £3 parking but their registration reader has read my number plate wrong and so its my fault! I tried to change the registerd number plate but due to poor voice recognition software I was unable to change this after various attempts by 2 of us, they reduced the parking ticket to £20 each for admin charges! Are these people a joke!
They wrote to me saying:
After consideration of the information provided by you, your dispute has been unsuccessful and the contractual parking charge notice still applies.
As we have extensively investigated this contractual parking charge notice and provided you with the results of our investigation, no further investigation will be undertaken.
The outstanding amount is £20; we look forward to payment…
Just as well I know my rights, they have been advised if they wish to pursue this then they should do so in a small claims court.
We were also given a parking ticket when my frail grandmother forgot to display her disabled badge, slightly overlaped the clock, you would have thought the parking atendant had common sense, sadly no, I explained that this will not be paid, after passing this to a debt collector and sending various threatening letters, the debt collection agency agreed with us and said it will be refered back to G24 after they fail to get any money (I explained that we were not going to pay and I was really not bothered by the letters as I was not going to be threatened). The collection agency refered this back to G24. I explained to them on the phone that they would have to take us to court and I was more than happy to defend this, the girl laughed and that was the end of that one...
DO NOT GIVE IN TO THESE BULLYS..
You can contact the owners of the carparks (G24 sell their services to private car parks they are not the owners) The owners will try to help you and indeed the guy at freeport said G24 have problems with their systems, did G24 tell me that, oh no....0 -
Did G24 also tell you that there is no legal requirement whatsoever to display a blue badge on disabled parking bays on private land?
Or that their parking 'fines' are not actually fines, but invoices for amounts that represent contractual penalties, which are completely unenforceable under contract laws?
Or that, in order to successfully form a contract for parking services with a driver they need to actually own the land, not simply be an agent of the landowner?
I suspect they kept all this quiet as well.
With good reason.Je Suis Cecil.0
