I now send an email to Adams asking them to confirm whether the nectar card number on the back has to match the nectar card used at time of purchase? I don't expect I will get an answer today but will let everyone know when they reply.

in my store we do not check that the number on the vouchers matches the nectar card, i see no reason why should they not be given as a gift from one person to another and used by that other person, at the end of the day the company would only be losing out if they refused somone the ability to be able to spend Nectar vouchers which do not match the card number as they simply would lose sales, i will be interested in your reply from Adams customer care on this one.:) :)

This is a little off topic, but as you all shop in Adams i thought i would take the opportunity to let you know that chip and pin is being installed in all stores in September, you have been used to signing so just to let you know you will soon be needing to use your pin number!:)

Look, can we please stop this unconstructive conversation? There really is no need to resort to sarcasm and personal remarks.

If you have to put up with lots of cr*p in your job - fair enough, but so do lots of other people. Please don't take it out on me, and don't blame me personally for it.

i have no problem with that, but just to make it clear i am absolutely under no illusion that other people have to put up with loads of rubbish in their jobs too, i have never once suggested that they don`t. I took the opportunity to retaliate to negativity towards those of us who work in shops, i could not do it at work because the customer would want me sacked for being .. well...human! it was good to be able to have my say and not have to stay tight lipped or have to scream in the staffroom!:)

Yep, I got my change in gift vouchers when I was using Nectar vouchers - it was a nice round sum though, no pennies! :)

Just spent £45 of my vouchers this morning. We walked around the store and picked up just over £60 worth of stuff (school shoes, school coat, underwear, pj's, etc). When we got to the till it rang up as £48 - the school coat was half price as purchased with the shoes and some of the underwear was Buy one get one half price (not advertised very well instore). But when the assistant put the vouchers through the till they were only ringing up as £5 each. We queried this and she said they only had £5 vouchers from Nectar. It clearly states £7.50 on each voucher, but she did not believe this was possible and had to discuss this with two other assistants. She finally agreed to put the vouchers through again to make up the amounts, but it was a hassle.

So please make sure your vouchers are going through the till at £7.50 each!

Also I handed over my Nectar card and got 10 nectar base points for this purchase. So apart from the problem with the vouchers, I am very pleased with my purchases, thanks!

When did you order them? I ordered mine 1.30 am on the day that the offer started. Still haven't got all of mine yet as they send them in batches.
  • My Dad ordered his on 20th August & received them within a few days, I ordered mine the day after but not got them yet.

Had an email back from Adams saying they have contacted the store & told them to accept them & also given me a phone number if I have any problems.

Going to try again later this afternoon now & will let you know what happens.
2025 - finally back comping after a stressful house move - send me fairy dust please
  • Still waiting for min. Thery have been really quick in the past so probably swamped with the 50% extra deal.

    Thanks for everyone's tips.
