Went into my local Adams today, purchased two items to the value of £8, tried to pay with the 2 nectar vouchers and was told that I could only use one of them, because they can't exchange the rest for vouchers or give me money, I told her that you can exchange them for vouchers, but she said that she has been told not to. So I had to pay the 50p.

Please can someone give me an idea at what to do.

    I would phone customer services.
  • Frankly I would have paid the 50p without a quibble. We are already on to a great deal with the Adams vouchers. With so many of these vouchers to us, I want to remain on good terms with the staff in my local Adams shop.

You have until 30th October to use the vouchers or can exchange them for gift vouchers as people have already confirmed. I emailed their Customer Services and got a prompt reply that the nectar vouchers could be exchanged for gift vouchers. Perhaps the shop has a no change policy for gift vouchers and the two issues were being confused?- I have come across this before.

Plenty of time to use them still.

you should have been able to have £7 back in adams vouchers! You need to ask for the manager when you are there and if the manager says the same then ask them to ring customer care in front of you to clarify, it does not say on the back of these vouchers that no change can be given, once the vouchers had been put through, the till would have instructed the staff member to sell vouchers back as change, i really don`t know why there is so much inconsistency in stores with this, Adams have been with Nectar for three years now and all updates are sent to all store managers by e mail, it seems to me there needs to be a clarification e mail sent to all stores so all the teams know what they are supposed to be doing!:)

I received my vouchers yesterday! I am going to try and get them exchanged for Adams vouchers at the weekend.

I went into my local Adams store on Saturday and I asked the cashier for vouchers and told her I was paying for them with nectar vouchers. She said she didn't think I could do that. I then showed her the email from Adams stating I could and she said she would have to talk to her manager because she did not know how to put it through the till. She went away with vouchers and email, then her manager came back. Manager said that you have to spend them in store, I said a friend had bought vouchers with her nectar vouchers and that I emailed Adams to double check and that the response from Adams confirmed this. She looked at email again and said she would have to telephone customer services on Monday if I would like to call in then. I said it would probably be Thursday before I would get it so I now have to go back on Thursday.

Wish me luck! Imagine if I had more than £30 worth to exchange!!

I've changed 2 sets and have had absolutely no problems at all. Didn't even have to show them my little email.

  • I went into my local Adams to use my Nectar vouchers on Friday, as they had just arrived in the post. The sales assistants don't seem to know what they're doing!!

A lady in the queue in front of me was told that she could not buy any items from the sale with her vouchers, or anything else that was on special offer (eg the school stuff on buy one get one half price). So basically we could only spend them on full price stock, and I strugged to find anything to be honest.

When I did try to use my vouchers, the sales assistant was going to put them through at £5 each, until I explained it was the summer special offer and they were worth £7.50. She didn't believe me (even though it said £7.50 on the vouchers themselves!) so she went to ask the store manager. The store manager told her to accept them but make sure that I was not given any change from them AT ALL. So I had to put something back and pay the extra in cash so I didn't lose any of my vouchers.

I don't like a couple of the things I bought, I dread what they're going to say if I try and take them back!

This is the first time I've redeemed any Nectar points for Adams, is it always like this? I've got loads of points left and I was going to redeem some more, but if Adams won't let me spend the vouchers on reduced price or special offer stock then it seems a waste of time!
  • no,its not always like that.it must be your store:confused: (although some people not had change either).
i have used my vouchers at a couple of stores as do not have one in my town and never had any trouble.the time previous to this offer i had loads of vouchers and bought mostly sale items and even used another voucher i had for £5 off spend.
just used mine for the school offer and some sale items, although S/A did have to check that they were the £7.50 vouchers.no problem and 22p change.:D
