  • I have bought the older style Nectar vouchers from eBay in the past, the ones that just said Nectar on them not Adams & have used them fine but the newer ones are useless unless you have the Nectar card that were from.

    I did ask the member of staff to contact customer care & she went off to do this then came back saying she couldn't get through so had phoned White Rose instead. I have emailed Adams & will print the email of to take with me with the customer care number so hoping they will allow me to do this then.

    Now I am confused. My mum ordered some as a gift for me through the webiste. They arrived with letter saying my mum had send them as a gift. But I have just checked the number on the back and it is her number not mine:confused:

    So surely you must be able to use them with a difference nectar card. I had never had them checked in the past.

    I now send an email to Adams asking them to confirm whether the nectar card number on the back has to match the nectar card used at time of purchase? I don't expect I will get an answer today but will let everyone know when they reply.

    I don't think I appreciate the tone of your post.}

    Really.

    {Firstly, I never called anyone stupid, and never would on this forum.}

    i never said you called anyone stupid, its how you speak about shop staff that makes you look like you think that. One day a child of yours may work in retail and oh the horror stories they will bring back about how they were spoken to by awful customers, how customers chuck things on the floor roll over it with a buggy and tell the 16 year old saturday staff "its your job to pick it up" this is what we have to put up with and your "them and us" attitude tells all.

    {Secondly, I did not say anything about using two £5 vouchers - I said I thought it might be possible to use a £5 total spend voucher when paying with Nectar vouchers. The reason I said that is because I have done this several times before in the past, and the staff have been happy to do this for me}

    i was giving an example!

    {Thirdly, as jo_b said as well, I have always got my Necatr points for purchases made using Nectar vouchers.}

    irrelevant to this conversation, the till issues nectar points not the staff, the staff deal with vouchers.

    {I'm only speaking from experience, and trying to help. Sorry if you thought I was being derogatory towards Adams staff; that was not what I meant at all. If Adams staff are doing things diferrently in different stores, then surely it's a sign of a lack of training in the company, and not really my fault as a customer.}

    Unfortunately no amount of training will make all staff in any company do and say EXACTLY the same thing, no programmed robots yet!!
    what you were talking about was not to do with training, you were talking about "tricking" the staff to putting vouchers through a certain way as if you are fooling them!

    i am also apart from being a Quote "they" (person from another planet maybe?) a customer as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)
    Look, can we please stop this unconstructive conversation? There really is no need to resort to sarcasm and personal remarks.

    If you have to put up with lots of cr*p in your job - fair enough, but so do lots of other people. Please don't take it out on me, and don't blame me personally for it.

    I used my vouchers today and I did not have to produce my nectar card at all, they were used just like gift vouchers. A word of warning though, you do not get any change when using the vouchers, not even in the form of vouchers, so make sure you use them to the max, I should of have 1 penny change, but she said she was not allowed to give it to me, maybe a calculator could be useful.

    I have always received change in the form of gift vouchers. It is strange how each store seems to act differently.

    you should always have Adams vouchers back as change if there is more than 99p to give back, the till will ask for the vouchers to be sold, so any store that does not do this must be doing something a bit dodgy as the till will not go any further until the vouchers to be sold are put through, also previous Nectar vouchers have said no change given on the back, these ones don`t, however we started to give change for Nectar vouchers as goodwill anyway as it would just mean the tills would be up at the end of the day which is not a good thing, being up is worse than being down!:)
