"If you join Talkmobile and have more credit left on your Fresh Mobile account than we have given you to start with, we will credit the difference by 15th April to your Talkmobile account."
I may be wrong, but I think some people are misinterpreting this statement.
My interpretation is this. If you have more than £5 credit on your Fresh Mobile account when you change to Talkmobile, for example £7.46, then they will credit the difference between the £5 credit they are giving you for changing to Talkmobile and the money still on your Fresh Mobile account, to your Talkmobile account.
In other words £7.46 minus £5.00 = £2.46. This £2.46, along with the £5.00 credit they are using to bribe you to join Talk Mobile will be credited to your Talkmobile account, making a total credited, if you join Talkmobile, of £7.46.
If I'm right, what this really means is that you will lose the first £5 of any credit you still have on your Fresh account. Or, to put it another way, they are withdrawing the offer of £5 credit for joining Talkmobile. Whichever way you look at it, it seems you will lose £5.
Please correct me if I'm wrong but I think this latest statement from Talkmobile is deliberately misleading.

Does anyone know if you can still topup with fresh. I going to move over to Asda but want to make some calls over the weekend - the top up line no longer works and the webpage has gone.0

Just phoned Customer service and they stopped processing top ups from 1st March.

Hi, wonder if anyone else has had this problem ? I duly got the new PAYG SIM card from Talkmobile. It came with a new number and that was fine as I didn't mind not keeping the old one. As I'm in the process of setting up a new business, I got lots of business cards and stationary printed with the new number. Then guess what, my phone has reverted to the old number. Only found out by chance because people were emailing to say they couldn't get through on the phone. Talkmobile are refusing to do anything about it. What to do next ?? Nightmare !0

I received my new sim this morning, found the number was different, so phoned them, the number on the sim is temporary and will revert to my old number on Monday or Tuesday. - I won't use the new sim til the old one stops working, so hopefully the transfer will be seamless. ......and the guy I spoke to was of the opinion that ALL credit- even if less than £5- will be transferred (at a later date). I'm still going to try and use mine up, just in case!0

Hi, I am also one of the few people who are still on the Fresh monthly deal which i pay by Direct Debit in arrears - it usually works out about £3 per month (last of the big spenders!), so I need a tariff with no minimum top-up per month. I only got my text from Fresh last night telling me they are closing.I have read through all the threads on this forum, which are really helpful but have just looked at Tesco and it appears their tariff is 10p calls and 5p text for 5 favourite numbers and then 10p text for all others - where did you all find the 4p texts? Asda still seems to be offering that so that may be the one to choose. Thanks for all your info!0

I have read all the posts but have not yet seen answers to the questions below, so wonder if anyone has experienced the answers.
1) Has anybody successfully managed to upgrade their phone to Talk mobile from Fresh and been able to use the new Talk Mobile Sim card, without finding it still locked to the T Mobile network (the network used by Fresh).
2) If anybody chose not to upgrade did you have success getting T Mobile to unlock your phone so that you could use another network?
3) Has anybody found out if Talk Mobile (connected to vodafone network) will allow you (after you have used up the remaining credit) to disconnect with them and the vodafone network to join Asda or Tesco? Someone commented that Talk Mobile may not allow you to disconnect or unlock because of contract obligations. Does that also stand for PAYG?
I asked Asda (very helpful) the questions but they did not know all the answers but did say that once you have unlocked your Sim cards from the networks you can still use any number of old (unlocked) sim cards on the phone, ie you could start using Asda PAYG and still use Fresh or Talk Mobile PAYG as long as none of your Sim cards are locked. Are they accurate in what they say?0 -
1) I have a basic Motorola and can put any sim card in it and just start using it on that particular cards network.
2) To get your phone unlocked, try Googling, there are websites where you can obtain unlocking codes -sometimes for free0
