My husband found this to be the case too - not only was the green booklet not enough
they threatened to suspened his job seekers allowance untill he attended and interview, with a consultant at the job centre
because they didn't believe he had been applying for jobs because he had not got put forward for any interviews by that point.
BTW, if you'd like a list of the job sites he used, feel free to pm me. I dare say your DH has them already, though.:)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Afternoon everyone
Don't know why but I feel so tired today. Think it is having ds2 at home every day for the last 9 weeks. He is always so loud, constantly asking me to watch things, need a volume control with him! He is going to his dads for 2 nights so will try and rest a bit this weekend. My oh is travelling up this weekend so it will be nice for us to spend some time together, as we only manage to see each other every couple of weeks.
Lunch was hm carrot and lentil soup, dinner is chilli that is being done in sc. DS1 decided to clear his room out yesterday and put aload of washing in:mad:. Had already done 2 loads so no room to hang it yet. I know that he wants some for tonight as he has taken some off the radiators that I had put on, not impressed.

Csarina - hope you oh is okay and that you manage to get sorted for your move.

Hi Jaynnie welcome to the daily - you are right, it is a lovely caring place to be - you sound as though you will fit right in!!!
My DD has told me that her and her fiance are spliting up and that the wedding is off:( I am absolutely devastated for them both. Can't really understand their reasoning as they say that they still love each other but that there is "nothing there" anymore. They have been together 10 years and lived together for about 2. I am hoping that it is just the stress that they have been going through as he has found it very hard to find a decent job since leaving the RAF and they were worried about the wedding etc. SO I am hoping that they realise that all relationships become somewhat mundane after 10 years and that they do love each other.
In the meantime they are both still sharing the house as they have another 6 months on the lease to go but I am not sure that this is a good thing as it is not giving them either the chance to move on or a chance to "miss" each other. Oh well I suppose time will tell. The wedding is off either way. Think we will loose all deposits and still have about £500 to pay on the dress which we will have to do anyway as we are contracted to it. Money seems the least worry though TBH.
Sorry for long post but I am really upset - he is just like a son to me as he has grown up as part of the family and I have had him on the phone saying how much he doesn't want to loose us as we are closer to him than his real family. Reassured him but I suppose things will change even with the best of intentions.
Anyway I have moaned long enough - there are worse things happening to people.

Hola!from Sunny Spain
Welcome Jaynnie :hello: You won't have forgotten how to cook, been there doing 70 hours weeks, and now not working it is strange how you just fall back into it.
Pen-Pin -Hope you get some good news, as you say you are due for some. :grouphug:
Sorry to hear about DD&BF nic1lou2 :grouphug:
Anyone else who'd like one :grouphug:
Settled in now, the head "singing" has subsided, the bark is still progressing nicely, hopefully this will get rid of it once and for all.
OS wise we have s s the place, everywhere here gets dusty without trying, and having salad for tea, will have a bit of a freezer challenge as need to use up what we have, and start again.
Market tomorrow for some fresh F&V and a quick look around (Don't tell DH)
Annie don't forget your promised me a PM.
Take care

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Hello everyone, I hope all is well?
Been busy all week and finally got some free time this afternoon. Chocolate cake is in the oven for the boys weekend puddings, and I have just started on a white chocolate cheesecake as requested by SSs friend who is staying over tonight. He remembered it from last time he came which is at least two years ago which I thought was tribute indeed.
Dinner will involve the remains of the roast chicken from yesterday. Not sure in what form yet though. Lots of veg, etc though so plenty of choice for once.
Csarina, my DH has chronic back problems too and will insist on doing far too much and crippling himself. I think it is a pride thing but it drives me mad because I end up doing everything for weeks afterwards. I hate watching him suffer.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Afternoon again. Love child of Mr Bean here(I am going to have a little talk to himself) Since I was last here I have done very little of use.:o
The loaf is done(nothing to do with me all down to the BM),
roasted the veg(had more than I thought which was nice) and has been made into a soup which is just cooling so that I can blend it(my everyday blender has a glass goblet which means the liquid has to be warm rather than hot)
Other than that I have been wading through stupid amounts of emails(some very:eek::eek::eek: ones-most dull and a few that I have to do something with) Going to take a few days to be honest.
I have tried to skim read some of the dailys but am failing dismally
But really need to send all my love and best wishes to LOWESY
Sweetheart, my love thoughts and prayers go to you and your DH. I know exactly how you feel. Please try to be kind to your self.
The pain does ease. All I can say is that things do get better although I know you can't think that the pain will ever go away at the moment.
NEVER EVER blame yourself-you have done nothing wrong try to talk to your DH (and don't shut him out of your pain) and take any help you feel would be useful.
Try to be guided by your instincts -never ever feel you have to be "brave" and if you get given any information about support groups helplines etc even if you feel that you are not interested keep it in a drawer for a bit you may want to contact people later and if you have numbers to hand you won't be faced with trawelling through lists. Hope that is in some way useful to you both.
Pen-Pin! What a moving post. I was in tears. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Eseex Girl hugs to DS & DH.
Will keep reading and will answer as much as I can honest.
Mark has just arrived home so am just going to throw a cat at him:rotfl:
Donny-Gal will PM you later this evening. Promise.
Have a good evening.
Ann xx
