    Afternoon all!

Feel as though I caught up on a lot of sleep last night, in fact the kids were all in dreamland early too, so perhaps we've all needed it!

Have been on the phone this morning trying to speak to dd22s form tutor, she hadn't done some homework, and when he asked her why she told a rather large fib that has snowballed somewhat out of control! Basically she told him that she is having a terrible time and cannot cope with the fact that her dad and I aren't together - the tutor was under the impression it had just happened and that she spends all her time in tears, and wanted to send her for counselling! dd2 was in a fair old stew last night about it all, told her that I would speak to her tutor and explain that she is actually okay, but she would also have to fess up to having not done her homework because she told me she had none and spent the weekend with her friend out riding!!!! Kids, eh?!

OS stuff will be more and more washing again, possibly some ironing later even! Going to do curry for dinner, so nice and easy as will just throw it all in the moski and leave it to do its thing! Must make some naans though and remember to get rice out of freezer. Other than that there is the usual hoovering and tidying, the hall table has vanished under stuff that needs sorting and the dining room is full of stuff that doesn't belong, so will be blackbagging and tipping later.

Need to get my bottom moving out of the house though, dd1 needs some more art supplies, what oh what exactly does the school provide for GCSE art? Certainly not paper or stuff to draw with or even sharpeners now! Think a table and somewhere to sit is about it really! Might whizz into Boots too and see if anything left in the sales for the pressie cupboard, or if they have any pizza sets left, could do with a couple of pizza stones for the bbq for the summer (nothing like a bit of forward planning!)

Having a wii night here later with the kids, and ex if he finishes work and has any energy left to jump about! Can't seem to find anywhere with the dance game in stock, so will order that, and we shall play Ninjas!

Lunches: cheese and salad sarnies, choc muffin, apple, cheese pieces, raisins.

Dinner: curry (meat yet to be decided, but poss beef as know that there is some already cubed in the freezer!), veg curry (for me), dhal, naans, rice (poss biryani stylee if I get organised!)

Have a good day all, hugs where needed xx

Jo and anyone else with a bed wetter - tesco currently have the pampers bed mats half price and there is also a money off voucher in the current tesco mag, so they end up v cheap, just incase anyone uses them or needs them for hols/sleepovers.

    Hello everyone!

Sorry, have only managed to read some posts, but see some people are in need of ((Hugs)) and best wishes for having rough times at the moment.

Came out this morning and car wouldn't start? only got a new battery just before xmas - had to get my neighbour to run us to school and then came back to jump start my car - you have to laugh because it took longer for us to work out how to open her bonnet (it's an Audi) and find the battery (which is in the boot!) than it did to jump start!:rotfl:

Been to allotment this morn to get some brussels and brocolli, nothing else on there at the moment.

Not long got back and it's 1pm already:eek: need to get in the shower and try do some ironing before picking kids up!

So must dash - hope you all enjoy yr OS day!
    Shez xx

  • Eeek a friend has just text to say she's in the area and will pop by shortly! I was still in pjs as I'm mid way through cleaning. Flat is a tip but couldn't say no as she is lending me her satnav! So I've just had a quick shower, need to hoover and put all the stuff in lounge in bedroom where it won't be seen! :rotfl:hopefully she is just dropping it off and doesn't want to stay too long as I'm happily working my way through my cleaning list. Kitchen surfaces and hob are sparkling, dishes washed and bathroom sparkling already :T

    Hi there one and all,

I have a confession to make I have been reading your daily threads for a wee while
now and made the brave move today of rasing my head and saying hi,

You all have such lovely things to say to each other even though in your own lives things may not be at there best - and as an outsider lurcking in may I say you should give yourselves a big pat on the back.

Any way now I have made my presence known I best indroduce myself properly
My OH and I have had a short sharp shock in the money dept - after both having good jobs he was made redundant a few months ago and as I worked for the same company they made it uncomforatble for me to stay there - luckly he has found temp work in a factory a big change for him as he was in IT and I am doing some part time care work.

we now have only a third of our income but 200% less pressure if you dont count financial niether of us were very good with money and although we dont have any debts as such we have not a penny of savings. But with everyones kind permission I will join your lovely thread hopefully learns loads to improve our livestyles and get free therepy to boot.:j

To all those who need hugs and prayers you have been in my thoughts while I was lurking.

PS I promise no more big posts ((honest))
  • chasing my tail today as usual:o
Have made a choc traybake again for DS. Have collected library books....one of them is Leiths Vegetarian cookery bible so looking forward to getting some ideas from that. Bought myself a bunch of hyacinths to cheer myself up.
Had no lunch just grabbing another cup of tea and a flapjack....could do with one of Bitsys cheese scones;)
Just about to blitz the downstairs before picking DS up.
Bought the cod loin for tomorrows fish crumble.....£6.50 for a pound of cod:eek:....yes i know other white fish is cheaper but OH won`t eat any but cod:cool:
Thrifty have you ever made the shoulder of lamb from Hughs everyday book? Am doing it next week and just wondered if it was one of the recipes you tried out.
bitsy I will send you copies of the CDroms for you to keep. Whenyou put them in your PC it will bring up each section of PECS such as food, dressing, days out etc and you just print them out and then spend hours with a laminator and Velcro:rotfl:

intending to do a thorough clean up of the living room today , did the dining room on sunday , I have spotted a cobweb already :o)
Your spiders aren't very efficient then. Ours can have their webs removed in the morning, and have them back in place by the afternoon. And they sit there sniggering at me, for good measure! LOL

I think people are told they must apply for a certain number of jobs to qualify for jobseekers allowance so they apply to keep up the quota.
That was certainly the case when Mr LW was out of work. He was told he had to apply for at least 3 jobs per week, which was easy enough some times, but other weeks there was nothing really suitable, and he ended up applying for things that were not really his line of work just to keep the JS people happy. To add insult to injury, they required proof that he'd done so; filling in his little green booklet wasn't good enough for them!

Actually, Mr LW's doing dins tonight - egg'n'chips. Good thing, as I'm cream crackered after blitzing the bathroom.

Hope everyone's having as good a day as they can - ((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one today.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

My husband found this to be the case too - not only was the green booklet not enough
they threatened to suspened his job seekers allowance untill he attended and interview, with a consultant at the job centre

because they didn't believe he had been applying for jobs because he had not got put forward for any interviews by that point.
