Because that's the classy type of outfit Ryanair is. If it takes longer than 7 days to refund your money Ryanair is breaking the EU travel directive. Also under this directive Ryanair has the legal obligation to offer you the option of rerouting. So if the route from Liverpool is also a Ryanair flight you should have the right to be rebooked onto this flight for no extra charge. Also Ryanair should pay the costs of getting from your original departure airport to Liverpool.
  • A long time ago, I turned up at Stansted to find my departure had changed and departed, without having recieved notice of change.

Also remember such changes may happen to your return trip, so you migh have to cut your break short, or find some more money for an extra night in the hotel.

That is the joy of Ryanair, that is why I do not fly with them anymore

I think ryanair say they will transfer your flight if your original (changed) one is not convenient free of charge but hopefully one of the ryanair oracles will be on to help you as soon as possible.
  • It might be a bit late because have bought another flight, but there is a flight from Stansted on the 29 May at 13.30.

Probably around 2 hours drive max down the A14. Or you can take the National Express coach from the airport.

For the guy going to Girona, London Gatwick- Girona doesn't leave until 15.10. Or, depending on the day, you could fly from Stansted - Reus, which leaves 12.10. If Barcelona is your final destination (I'm assuming it is), not that much difference which one you fly into.

Of course, there is nothing to say that flight times could be changed again. As new routes are added or dropped, changing the destination of one plane can have a knock-on effect for multiple flights.

I have received schedule changes from Ryanair a couple of times and they have always been very cooperative when I have called them to change to another flight. This has been done without any extra cost for me, even though once I have changed to a far more expensive filght.

Have you double checked the DATE of you amended booking because Ryanair flights to Girona operate at different times depending on the day of the week? Not likely but worth checking.

Thanks, but the date is definitely the same. It looks like they have changed the flights every day to 07:10.

Thanks for this. Our final destination is near Girona however, so we do need to travel to that airport and we live quite near Stansted. We'll just have to put up with the early start I think, but I wanted to vent my frustration on this forum about how Ryanair can do this and not tell their customers. My sister also have a flight to Girona booked on another date, and her flight back was moved from afternoon to morning. She received no email notification either, and had I have not told her about mine then she wouldn't have looked it up and found out!

Did you check your junk email folder, as a notification can sit in there.

    C+P from the Ryanair site:

In the event of a schedule change Ryanair will endeavor to contact all passengers via the email address supplied at the point of booking, however we do recommend that passengers review their flight booking prior to departure via the Manage My Booking section on our website.

If a Ryanair flight is time changed significantly (more than 3 hours before or after the original departure time) and no suitable alternative flight is available, we will, upon application, offer a Travel Credit or a refund for all monies paid in respect of the time changed flight, without further liability.

Thanks for this. I checked my junk mail folders and there is nothing from Ryanair in there. Nice of them to "endeavour" to tell me. I could give them a call and ask them to move the flights, as the new flight is 3 hours 40 minutes earlier. My options are to go for the evening flight the same day (taking away a day of my holiday) or the night before (in which case I would have to pay for an extra night in the hotel, which costs a premium just for one night). I might just keep the 07:10 and put up with the early start. Thanks Ryanair!

we've had it happen with AA - booked in May for September flights...notice the schedule change online in June...received an email from AA in July.

While I think it would be great if all airlines let you know immediately of a schedule change, checking regularly online isn't difficult...and arguably, an email could go astray accidentally...so could a letter...even a phonecall can be misdialed...then you have a passenger who says 'I wasn't told!' and an airline that says 'we sent you an email/letter/left a message' and that conversations just going to degenerate into 'no you didn't'...'yes we did'.

It can suck when it happens. But on occasion - it's great. We've had times where we booked a specific flight even though it was at a stupid hour because it was dramatically cheaper than our preferred option...only to have the schedule changed or flight cancelled and get our preferred option anyway.

So it can work both ways.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I don't really think that passengers should have to keep checking whether their flights have been moved, as it isn't difficult to send an email to the customer to tell them. Yes, it might go astray (I checked by spam folder and Ryanair's booking email got through fine the day before) but at least they could send it. I booked the flight on Wednesday and on Thursday the times changed. I am still in the process of booking transport connections and hotels, and because they have not told me about the change I could easily make incorrect bookings and lose money.

My flight has been changed by over three hours, so surely I should be ASKED whether I accept the change, shouldn't I? If I decline they should give the money back. I booked the 10:50 to Girona, not anytime that suits Ryanair to Girona.
