Wrong. I have seen no change in the fees for this opodo promotion card.

Wrong: from the T&Cs adrred at purchase, seen at https://www.fairfx.com/opodo/termsandconditions , here are the fees http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/9482/picau.png

Since you have never received an opode promotional FairFX card, how do you know?

I guess if I write it often enough, it might sink in....
The information contained in this table summarises key product features and is not intended to replace any terms and conditions

That means that those figures do not form part of the T&Cs.

Nevertheless, there are no ATM fees. Just a blanket 1.5% charge on all transactions.

For instance there are no ATM fees on the Caxton Global card whilst abroad, but there is a 2.5% forex charge.

    You see?

As to the special Opodo promotional card, there is no such thing. It's a standard Anywhere card.

All that happens is that if you apply via the site, the £9.95 card charge is waived.
The card is exactly the same, which is why you are directed to the FarFx website for fee information. :)
Not unlike if you apply via Quidco, you don't get a special promotional Quidco FairFx card. ;)

    From the FairFx Opodo website
    :
NEW!! Introducing the FairFX Anywhere Card

The FairFX Anywhere Card is the latest addition to the FairFX Prepaid MasterCard® family. Just as the name suggests, use it anywhere - in any country, in any currency and with any vendor displaying the MasterCard® acceptance mark!

It's essentially a FairFX Prepaid MasterCard® in Pounds Sterling, with funds being converted to the appropriate currency at the point of sale. Unlike some of our competitors, we don't mark up the prevailing interbank exchange rate!
The standard card fee is £9.95 for initial loads under £500 but for a limited time, the FairFX Anywhere Card will be absolutely free of charge.
A 1.5% charge is made on all usage, ATM or point of sale, using the FairFX Anywhere Card, in the UK, on the internet, or abroad - Anywhere!. There is no additional ATM fee*.

    You see?
I can see that you are a bit slow, so I'll be patient with you. But even you can understand those clear and simple terms. Can't admit that you made a mistake?

No, it means only what it says.

So how come it has different T&Cs stating different fees?

You are directed to a different fees table.

Really? Why don't you link us to the "different fees" table? Maybe something that diverts from the 1.5% transaction fee?

You aren't directed anywhere, but the Fairfx website. :)

Looks the same to me. 1.5% charge on all transactions.

If you aren't happy with it and think it is unauthorised, put your money where you mouth is and scrap the card.

Wrong. Read http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/9482/picau.png properly and you will see "Cash withdrawal fees FREE for withdrawals made in the UK and overseas" .

Yes, indeed. That informs you that there are no cash withdrawal fees. There aren't. Just a 1.5% charge on ALL transactions.

For instance. Caxton Global claims no cash withdrawal fees, but they take 2.5% from the exchange rate.
Would you class that as a cash withdrawal fee?

So, using the same thread, the Anywhere card has NO cash withdrawal charges. Just a blanket 1.5% charge on all transactions. :)

Slowly but surely it will seep into your brain. :)

How does this identify the card you have? Does the card you own say "Anywhere" on it? Does its entry on your account page says "Anywhere" on it?

If you choose to apply for an "Anywhere" card by selecting it instead of two other choices (without the word Anywhere in their title), I think you can be sure it's an "Anywhere" card you'll get, without having it tattooed on your forehead or written down on everything you receive from them.

I think we can agree that there is something not quite right in chrisjj's house.
Someone who cannot understand that 1.5% on all transactions, means just that.
Signed up for an Anywhere card, but because 'Anywhere' isn't written on the card, imagines he has a special 'one off' card exempt from the normal conditions of the Anywhere card.

Now he claims that he signed up directly though the FairFx website and is directly bound by the Terms and Conditions therein, he has tried to use outside websites to try to prove that the Terms and Conditions had changed since he signed up for his card a few weeks ago. :D

When it was shown that the Terms and Conditions hadn't changed since December 2009, he tried to hang his claim on a 'Special promotional Opodo FairFx Anywhere card' :rotfl:
When pressed, it appears that not only does such an animal not exist, but he didn't even apply for his card via opodo.

When asked if he would hand back the card in indignation at the "unauthorised charge", his reply was to make a bank transfer directly to the card in a show of displeasure. :rotfl:

So for anyone confused be chrisjj's obfuscations....

FairFx Anywhere Pound Sterling card; No charges ANYWHERE in the world apart from a 1.5% charge on all transactions.
If you consider that Nationwide pass on 1% outside Europe, you realise that it's not a bad deal at all for a Prepaid Mastercard.
Hope that I've made it simple for all.

Nowhere does the T&Cs say there is a 1.5% charge on ALL transactions.

The fee tables has two rows:
    Transaction fees

    Euro & Dollar cards
    • FREE for purchase transactions made in the UK and overseas
    Anywhere Card (Pounds Sterling)
    • 1.5% transaction fee.
    Cash withdrawal fees

    Euro & Dollar cards
    • €1.5/$2 per ATM withdrawals in the UK and overseas
    Anywhere Card (Pounds Sterling)
    • FREE for withdrawals made in the UK and overseas
You are claiming BOTH rows apply SIMULTANEOUSLY to this card's ATM cash withdrawals. That's ridiculous.
