  • :j Got my co-op card, pin number etc.

I am a bit confused though, it says that its a Visa Debit Card - is this really true - I read somewhere that some places won't accept? Advice would be appreciated, thanks.

It is a visa debit card, however some retailers have not updated their BIN database yet, this is where the problem is, and where it has not been updated it is still showing as an Elecrron card. I know Tesco online and petrol where you pay at the pumps are 2 of the problem areas.

My sister opened one of these accounts last week, I tried to book her MOT online with her new card, put it in as visa debit, DECLINED, incorrect card type selected. Went through no problem as visa electron.

  • Now just got a new tax code - it puts my tax up by another £105 a month - apparently I haven't paid enough this year for my company car - despite having called themevery month to make sure it was right.... rrrhhhhhh! I am hoping that all I need to do it tell the OR (when I finally hear from them!!) and they will adjust my SOA.
  • Hi wp, havent heard anything from the or yet, she told me it could take 2-4 weeks so am enjoying the peace at the moment lol

Hi ClassyLady, Dawlish & Onward (you all went BR about the smae time as me!) Just wondered if any of you have got letters from the OR yet?or confirmation of your interview - I haven't (not that I am bothered, the longer it takes the better really, or at least the more pay days I can have before I will have to part with money again the better :rotfl:

Just wondered if the process can take a while? When I spoke to them from the court on the 3rd they said I would get a letter within a week.... but then said that they wouldn't be dealing with it as they were too busy.... so my file will be passed to swansea.... as it was all credit card/overdraft with no property involved.

Am I right in thinking that the longer they take the better for me?!;)

  • Advice needed - I had a call from the OR yesterday to arrange my unterview, I missed the call as I was at work and my phone is on silent, but he left a message and I called back within 10 minutes, it's all in place for next week. This was all fine and I was relieved to have this sorted.

My problem starts from when I got home from work last night - my Mum had been visiting and had spent the day with my son yestedray - and had answered the phone to the same guy I had spoken to, he had left a very detailed message about him being the Official Reviever from (fortunately its 200 miles away!) and that he wanted to speak with me regarding arranging an interview on x at x o'clock.....

Needless to say, my Mum was like "why is the OR calling you?" and "what do they want" and "whats it all about" I said that I didn't have a clue she then said "oh didn't you have a call on your mobile?" - I said "NO how strange...." left it at that. Other than my OH no one knows, and I am furious that the OR went in to so much detail with anyone other than me - how dare they,...... surely they shouldn't/can't have done this?!I have no intention of telling my folkes the sticky situation that I got in - especially as I have got this far in sorting it all out.....

If they had been trying for weeks to get hold of me or if I had not called them back etc maybe just maybe I would understand, but it was the first time I had heard from them...... Now my Mum is bound to call on Monday to ask what it was all about

I am horrified that this has happened, can I make a complaint? Or will this just worsen my interview? I am intending to call them again on Monday and find out exactly what was said to my Mum, I am sure that if the BR word had been mentioned with regard to me that my Mum would have said so, but I want to check.... Will have to come up with something by the time she asks me.... Feeling very angry that I have been put in this situation........:(

    Any advice would be appreciated.

That's a bit rubbish tbh Welshpony. You'd have thought that they would not leave details with others, but then again, it could be argued that it is public information anyway.

Think carefully before continuing to lie to your folks about it though. How would you/they feel if they found out a few months down the line?

  • I guess I really don't see it as being a lie - it's simply not telling them MY business, I am in my 30ies and haven't had any cash from them since I was at Uni - some 15years ago.... It really is nothing to do with them, they live miles away and worry enough as it is (about the silliest of things).

I see what you say about it being public info - but its on a register, I don't know about you but I haven't gone through looking up everyone I know!! It's for banks to check out etc. The OR should have been more discreet in his conversation that's all I'm saying - I am still very cross!!
