ah True you will be fine, its only letters and they can't hurt. They HAVE TO BE REASONABLE so just keep thinking that, I have definitely found in my own little war that once they realise you are not daft, they back off, just throw around a couple of threats of reports to OFT and ask for all of their names first, I FIND THEY ARE MUCH BRAVER WHEN THEY ARE ANONYMOUS. no idea why that came out in capitals, but its a good thing to remember and they must give you a name. Have a good day all.More than Two Years in

aw chucks, thank you. My day to day job involves helping small businesses be successful, so I'm kind of used to dealing with a big assortment of dopes(did I say that), I meant people. I'm very good at sorting out my clients businesses just a pity I didn't do a bit more decent work closer to home!!More than Two Years in

It might just be me, but have you noticed when they are calling from overseas call centres that they always give you their name first, and it's always something unusual that most British people (and I use the term loosely so as not to offend) can neither pronounce nor spell?Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840 -

ask then, even it takes an hour, ask them to spell it slowly, you really need to know who is sayig what, not sure that this is just a wheeze to put you off asking. I am really good at being pedantic and I always call them "young man or young woman" just to make them feel a bit insignificant. What they all seem to forget that you are not just a debtor you are their customer!!!!More than Two Years in

Hey VicB! Take it the party was good, wondering if you are still recovering?_party_
I'm here!
So sorry for being completely AWOL! Hen party was very good (I highly recommend a 'cheeky butler') have spent the last 2 days in recovery and catching up on TV (I watch WAY too much American TV!).
Bank at work today
Just about caught up on everyone's news! You have all been busy! BIG welcome to the newbies, you don't have to be crazy to join this thread...but it helps :rotfl:
Nothing too exciting to report...HSBC still stalking, if it continues (8am on a Sunday!!) I will send them a letter this week.
Gave in and spoke to Capital One yesterday, the 8+ calls a day were driving me mad! Got the usual waffle and then when I mentioned 'DMP, CCCS' he was very nice. First he said they did get my token payment letter but it wasn't signed (I read on here somewhere that you shouldn't sign, not sure why, so I didn't). I did sign the original DMP/CCCS notification letter though. And then he said they hadn't made a decision on my DMP and need the CCCS to call them (anyone else experienced this?) so I gave him all my CCCS details and he said the calls would stop for the time being and that I should continue with the token payments.
Will give CCCS a call at lunchtime and ask them to speak to them.
Question - anyone know how long it takes to set up CCCS DD? I still haven't done it for 1st March payment and hoping I'm not too late? I can do it over the phone with CCCS can't I?
Hope you all have a good day! xPaddle No 16

I set my direct debit up over the phone, think it takes about a week to go through so you might be to late to set it for the 1st, I'd still give them a call and try though.0

I have just started working with the Business Debtline which I accessed from CCCS - just sent out the first letters to credit cards-scary but its done now and managed to get the mortgage deferred for 3 months which is a big relief. Good luck.dogsrus0

Hiya Vic,
Sounds like a top weekend!!
The reason you shouldn't sign your letters is something to do with the creditors pulling a fast one and copying it onto something which you didn't sign IYSWIM. If they're moaning about not having an ink signature on a letter, as CrapOne did with me, I printed my name in block capitals in blue ink, blatantly not my signature. Most creditors know that the advice to us is not to sign the letters so the more they push, the less I'd give tbh.
Off to work in a min  not looking forward to it today...Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840
