Morning my delinquent friends:rotfl:thanks for :rotfl:this morning- off your trilleys etc!
Hope you not feeling too bad Tedsd and are soon better.
Welcome Beenie and congrats on the birth of you baby girl - can you pull the plug on your phone, change your number, the calls must be driving you mad with your little one.
Well my talent at moment would be the amazing projectile vomit catcher, ds2 is no longer performing but ds1 and dd started within minutes of each other last night....would they pay me to take my talent away! Just waiting for me to catch it now!
PDD yikes RBS, will be following you down that path too, although its dh's cc. I can't believe how people are treated so differently, and how they accept the people who can pay more, but those who can only pay less are being rejected.

Thanks re the number, not sure how much of a case I have until i start my DMP...but I'd be grateful for that number when I do need it later on (and when it's a brave day) Think I'll feel braver once my DMP is set up and I can argue I'm paying something...
Hi tedsd,
I also am having the delight of dealing RBS,(loan dept) but to be honest so far so good. As soon as the CCCS sent me my pack and i sent the letters out i received a letter fairly quickly saying they accept the reduced payment won't add charges but nothing about freezing interest. There is transsion period it stays with there collections dept then transfers to a inhouse DCA i think it is Triton, and they really don't seem to have a clue about anything. Apparently it is policy for them. not to freeze interest! so another letter going in the post. :j
If you have any money in an account with them or an OD facility on that account get it out quickly and get the OD if it is clear shut down. the bleepers took money from my OD to pay my loan when they had already agreed the payments. So i rung them gave them a mouthful, spoke the supervisor etc and got the money
good luck0 -
I have been on the phone today to CITI Card to ask if they will reduce my interest, they have informed me that they will not. But they are going to get their account manager... to call me as I have stated that I am not able to meet the montly amount but could if they reduced the interest. Can anyone advise what this account manager is going to suggest.
I have suspended the card as the tried a huge rate increase and I know with my other debts I could not get a change of card. I am happy to pay but can not afford the amount they ask for. Can I do a DMP for just one card??0 -
Hi Niknax - as I understand it a dmp is for all your credit. When we started on the dmp and consulting with cccs the calls from some of the cc suggested they would set up a short term arrangement (m&s said 3 months) which would reduce payments to what we could afford over that time. Sorry not really any help but good luck with the call!DMP mutual support thread member 371LBM Jan 2010DMP Paddle No 20

Hello,
May I join you please. I'm starting my DMP with CCCS on 1st April, it was going to be 1st March but I'm still sorting out my new bank account so I've asked for it to be deferred a month.
A bit about me, I'm 35 (will be 36 on Friday), am married with no children but we do have a naughty Labrador and Border Terrier and three scatty cats... there's never a dull moment in our house.
I owe just shy of £35K and feel a bit stupid really seeing as I work in accounts, I can manage works money very easily but I have failed with my own. I was managing OK until Virgin, M&S and Cap One put their interest rates way up and I just couldn't afford to make the payments they wanted so I went to CCCS who have been really great. I should be Debt free in 4 years, although I'm hoping it will be before this.
I received two letters today, one from Virgin (MBNA) to say that they have accepted my DMP offer :-) and another from CCCS to say that MBNA (my other account with them which I owe under £500) to say that they can't accept my offer... Oh well, CCCS have just said that they will continue to pay them my offer and not to worry.... M&S Money called my work number earlier, thankfully I have caller display so didn't answer, and also thankfully my home number is faulty at the moment so no calls would be able to get through, and none of my creditors know my mobile number.... So I guess it will be an influx of letters from now onwards.
I'm currently waiting for CCCS to get back to me to say that I can start my DMP officially on 1st April.
Good luck to everyone with your debt free adventures... I'm going to have a good look to see what I can put on EBay at the weekend, and through old books and CD's etc... We've only got a small house but so much clutter.
Take Care

Ted you:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: are obsessed!!
well after beating up RBS this morning I tootled off to Aldi at lunchtime and got the trolley wrong again, the woman got so annoyed she wheeched it off me and turned it round at such a speed, she knocked 2 of my chocolate bunnies (a bargain @ 59P each) off the counter and killed them, had to go and liberate another two, much to the amusement of a very long queue:o:o:o
Welcome Kerrk, as you can see we are all as mad as hatters here, but it keeps up the spirits while having to deal with the pesky banks:eek:More than Two Years in

Hi PDD,
You have just cheered me with your Aldi shopping trip. Love it!!
On the subject of Aldi, for any of the ladies who used to use Yves saint Laurents touche Eclat. Aldi do there own version for the princly sum of £3.49 bargain! and it is very good.0 -
Thanks everyone...
Hmm, not very good with trolleys full stop, DH pushes the trolley as I'd probably knock something over (not good). I can sing though, although I won't be on X-Factor anytime soon, I can hear Simon saying thank god from here, lol.
I'm pretty good at strongly worded letters so I will send one to M&S Money. I'm pretty calm about all of this, which is very weird for me as I worry about everything... I usually go by my gut instinct which hasn't let me down (yet) and have a feeling that everything will be OK. I'm offering nearly 2% of the debt per month so my creditors should hopefully be happy with that, on some of them it's not much less than I was paying anyway...
I've vowed that as soon as I've paid it all off I'm never touching a credit card/store card or loan again..!! (I said that last time I had financial troubles in 2006, I managed to get out of that with some savings.. sadly I don't have any this time).
Thanks so much everyone, it's nice (well not nice but you know what I mean) to see that we're all in the same boat.
I went looking round the shops yesterday in Weymouth and was quite pleased with the fact that I didn't see anything I liked (so that I couldn't spend money I didn't have) but was miffed when DH offered to buy me some Skechers trainers for my birthday and they didn't have my size.... Grrrrrr....!! but he bought me some jewellery and Winnie The Pooh bits (as I collect WTP items) instead... I have the day off on Friday so will try to set up a spreadsheet at home with everything on so that I can keep track of it.
Anyway, I'm waffling... will be going home soon to my naughty dogs.
Take care everyone,

Ho Yerkk, welcome. I am in the same position as you, starting on 1st April (I hope) so I can sort out all the transfers of the banks, DDs etc. I have managed to transfer all of the direct debits now, there are just two to come out of the natwest overdraft ( as they next payments dates are too close for the changeover) and then everything will start coming out of the new bank.
I have started the ball rolling today and sent off all the boomph to CCCS with the DMP agreement, credit card statements and all that, I have asked them to start it on the 1st April to give me time. How long will it be now before I hear back from CCCS? Im worried that when Natwest get the DMP notificatin they may just take money for the natwest credit card payments out of the natwest overdraft, as I cant close this account as it is overdrawn and hte overdraft is goin on the DMP.
Im a biot nervous now to see whats gonna happen and if I start getting massive charges slapped on everything, I am in the position at the moment where I havent actually defaulted yet on any of the debts, so I am wondering whether to pay them all normally until the DMP starts, I have withdrawn money from the O/D for this eventuality - naughty) and not send out the notificatin of DMP and just wait for them to hear from CCCS, or is this against the "rules". I just figured it may be less hassle if I do this but Im not sure. For example my next payment due will be the Halifax credit card on the 1st March, should i send a token payment and notification of dmp letter or should I jusdt make an online payment as normal and then by the time the next payment comes around they should have been notifed by CCCS of the DMP????
I guess its real now, what happens if I start getting letters saying that they wont accept? What do I do? I do NOT want to speak to anyone on the phone, I just refuse to answer calls from numbers I dont know, so that sorts that, but I think the only creditors who have my number are Natwest, because I have (HAD!) a current account with them. If they ring I will just ignore, I will only communicate by letter now! iM just scared of getting into even more debt by them adding extra charges and interest. If they only agree for a temporary period, say 3 or 6 monthsm, what happens at the end of this time?
I am paying CCCS £217 on a debt of approx £38,000 and they said I will be debt free in 15 years.
Thanks again for all the help guys, and welcome to the newbies, this forum is invaluable and I really dont know what I would have done without it.0 -
Hi losing, I feel a but like you on the token payments, but Payplan told me to get in no more debt and send an amount I can afford with a covering letter. Let's face it, we are gonna get a default or two or three or four anyway, token payment or not. Save your money, it might come in very useful. F and Fs and all that in the future.LBM Jan 2010. Paddle No. 5.
