...got a bit distracted there...Cheryl Cole is 'officially' separating from Ashley Cole, hopefully now she'll take him for every penny (apologies if not of you are as celeb-obsessed as I am! ;)).

I'm sure I read on the CCCS counsellor thread that banks can do the offset thing if it's within their group of companies but absolutely not if they're not linked...that would be theft!!

I think I read that somewhere to, if you think about it makes sense or they'd all be dipping each other's pockets in a complete chaotic merry go round.
Do you think Cheryl would like to share, maybe True could ask Simon to ask her when we're all singing in the trolleys?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Losing please please try not to worry you will be fine. Im sure of it. I know this is the most scariest thing in the world. Ive been putting it off since 2007! But we've all taken the first step and trust me, its not as bad as you think. You are doing the right thing!
    Ok, answers.
Yes send the notification and token together, keeps everything straight forward and you dont have to write another letter to go with the payment.
You can send the same amount to all creditors. Most people send a £1 postal order. DO NOT SEND A CHQ. Basically this is so your creditors dont get your new banks details. It will cost you for the postal order but its safer. Make sure they have been crossed though. Send them and the notification to the usual payment address. This can be hard to find esp if you normally pay by direct debit or online. Give us a shout if you're stuck with any Im sure one of us will have it.
I wouldnt bother sending more than one token payment. Unless your DMP is put back for any reason. Once they've got the payment and the notification letter they know whats going on and they will be waiting for the next payment from CCCS.
Bascially you'll have done your bit.
You can then sit back, wait for the acceptances (try not to get to hang up on these though) and sort out your first payment to CCCS.
I hope that helps make you feel a bit better. You're not alone and you can do this :)
    Hang in there :grouphug:

Hey yes thanks it does make me feel better - every time I come on this forum I feel better and feel as though I am taking a step further to sort out the mess I have made for myself.

I have the following for the payment addresses:-

    HALIFAX
    Card Services,
    Pitreavie Business Park,
    Dunfermline,
    KY99 4BS

    Customer Money Team
    Egg
    Pride Park
    Riverside Road
    Derby
    DE99 3GG

    Virgin Credit Card
    Royal Avenue
    Widnes
    WA88 1AS

    Capital One:
    PO Box 1000
    Camberley
    GU15 3ZQ

    Tesco Personal Finance
    George House
    31 North Hanover Street
    Glasgow
    GF1 2YG
    Natwest Credit Card,
    MILTON kEYNES
    MK77 1SE

Are these correct? As for my current account (old one - Natwest) do I send it to my local branch (which is next door to my work and they all know me!!!!! Could be a bit embarassing) or do I send it to a different head office type address?

I cannot wait until those last 2 direct debits have been taken then I can draw a line under Natwest and treat them like all my other creditors.

I hav decided I am going to send the Notification of DMP letter and token payment to each creditor about 5-6 days before the next payment is due (a postal order) and then wait for CCCS to kick in with the plan. Natwest I will leave till as late as possible, probably last week in March.

Gosh I really feel like I am getting somewhere now, I just hope all this works!

    Cheers all x

this is why I am worred in case my new bank (Lloyds TSB) is in any way connected to any of my creditors, who are:

    Egg
    Virgin (MBNA)
    Halifax
    Capital One
    Natwest
    Tesco Finance

    Egg - Part of Prudential
Virgin (MBNA) - MBNA (MBNA America Bank)
Halifax - Part of HBOS, which is a subsidery of Lloyds Banking Group - please double check this with CCCS
Capital One - Capital One Bank
Natwest - Part of Royal Bank of Scotland
Tesco Finance - Part of RBS

Ok, I've looked up Lloyds TSB and the others on Wikipedia and Halifax/HBOS may be linked, I'd speak to CCCS to double check as some are more linked that others IYSWIM.

    Hope it helps x

lloyds bought Halifax/Bank of Scotland last year, remember the dodgy deal last year facilitated by the PM? I have spoken to both collection departments and there rules and regs and tone were suspiciously alike, i would not leave any money that you can't afford to lose in either of them if you have debt, just to be safe.:T
